Collect all three treasures on Erpp Island, clear the Salmonid waves, and pick your first Ink Tank.

Collect all three treasures on Erpp Island, clear the Salmonid waves, and pick your first Ink Tank.

Piel Coast is the opening treasure hunt on Erpp Island in Splatoon Raiders, and it doubles as your introduction to Bot Hops, Showstoppers, and Salmonid combat. The goal is simple to state but takes a few fights to finish. You need to track down three treasures across a chain of small islands, then get back to the hideout to unlock your first Ink Tank.

Quick answer: Open the Treasure Map, select the first mission icon on Erpp Island, then use ink and Bot Hops to reach three crystals. Drill each crystal with your Bot Buddy to claim a treasure, beat every enemy wave, and return to the hideout to choose an Ink Tank.

Start the Piel Coast mission on Erpp Island

Piel Coast is a Salmonid Level 2 treasure hunt. To launch it, open the Treasure Map and pick the first mission icon on Erpp Island. Frye grabs your bot with the hideout’s crane and flings you and Big Man straight into the level.

Two moves carry you through the whole mission. Ink lets you swim across paintable surfaces, and the Bot Hop clears walls and gaps you cannot paint. Call your Bot Buddy with X, then press jump again to fling yourself across.

First treasure: cross the wall and drill the crystal

From the starting point, break the wooden box on your right to grab some Mysterious Shards, then cross the small wooden ramp ahead.
Clear the group of Cohocks waiting on the other side. The wall past them cannot be painted, so call your Bot Buddy with X and Bot Hop over it.

Climb the ramps to the upper platform, smash the wooden boxes, and collect the two balloons nearby.
You will reach a set of vertical rings followed by three stacked horizontal rings. Bot Hop through all of them and land on the ground below.

At the end of the path, use your Bot Buddy’s Drill on the large crystal to break it open. Inside you get Mysterious Shards, crafting materials, and your first treasure.

Second treasure: Salmonids and your first Showstopper

Jump onto the wooden surfboard to travel to the next island. This area introduces Salmonid enemies, including two Salty Tongues, so expect a tougher fight than before.
Defeat the Salmonids to earn Power Eggs. These fill your Showstopper Gauge, shown above your health bar in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
When the gauge is full, press the right stick to trigger your Bot Buddy’s Showstopper. Your attacks hit much harder while it is active, and you can strike with the smaller manta rays using L and R during the Manta Dance to wipe out enemies faster.

Once every enemy is down, drill the crystal with your Bot Buddy to claim the second treasure and more rewards.

Third treasure: break the shielded crystal

Take the next wooden surfboard to the final area. You will see a crystal locked behind a black shield with no enemies in sight.
Approach the crystal to spring the trap. A large wave of enemies appears the moment you get close, so lean on your Bot Buddy to clear them all.
With the wave gone, the shield drops. Drill the crystal to collect shards, weapons, and the third treasure chest.

After you grab it, Big Man realizes the hideout is far out at sea and jokes that you should have planned a way back. Your friends then arrive to rescue you, which kicks off a cutscene where they finally reveal who they are.

Choose your Ink Tank back at the hideout

Back at the hideout, open the treasure you carried out of Piel Coast. It reveals three Ink Tanks, and you pick one to define your early playstyle.

Ink TankFocus
Speed TankFaster, mobility-led playstyle
Power TankHigher damage output
Tactical TankBalanced, utility-focused abilities

Each tank comes with its own abilities, and the one you choose also unlocks a matching outfit later, after you progress further through the story.

How you know Piel Coast is complete

The mission wraps once you collect all three treasures, watch the rescue cutscene, and select an Ink Tank at the hideout. Finishing it opens the next area on Erpp Island, Blansh Seaway. If you get stuck partway, the usual reason is a wall or gap you tried to paint over instead of clearing with a Bot Hop, so call your Bot Buddy with X and jump again to cross it.
