Fortnite Shiny Hours: Power Hour Times, Sprites, and Rewards

Everything the Hot Bat Summer Power Hour changes, from Sprite spawn boosts to free starting gear and every regional session time.

Everything the Hot Bat Summer Power Hour changes, from Sprite spawn boosts to free starting gear and every regional session time.

Shiny Hours is Fortnite’s Power Hour tied to the Hot Bat Summer event, and it exists for one reason: to make rare Sprites far easier to collect. During each window, spawn rates jump for the Batman Sprite and for the Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil variants, while every player drops into the match with extra gear and guaranteed island modifiers.

Quick answer: Shiny Hours is a two-hour Power Hour that boosts Sprite spawn rates and hands every player a Batman Grapnel Gun and a Self-Revive Device at the start of the match. Two separate sessions run each Saturday, so you get two chances to complete your Sprite collection.

Shiny Hours session times by region

Since the start of Chapter 7 Season 3, Epic Games splits each weekly Power Hour into two sessions on Saturday. The first runs from 11:00 AM PT (2:00 PM ET), and the second begins at 6:00 PM PT (9:00 PM ET). Each session lasts a full two hours, giving you up to four hours total if you play both.

The most recent Shiny Hours ran on Saturday, July 18. These are the start times across major regions for both sessions.

What changes during the Power Hour

Shiny Hours layers several modifiers on top of normal matches. They stack for the full two-hour window and switch off when the session ends.

  • The Batman Sprite spawns more often across the island.
  • Every player starts the match with a Batman Grapnel Gun.
  • Every player also starts with a Self-Revive Device, so you can pick yourself back up after being knocked without a teammate.
  • Batman’s Beach Buggy appears more frequently, adding fast mobility for chasing down Sprites.
  • The Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly is enabled throughout each match, and it guarantees a Special Sprite.
  • The Battle Bus Victory Royale Rift Anomaly is guaranteed to occur at the end of every match.

Note: because the Battle Bus Victory Royale Rift Anomaly closes out every match, a late Sprite find can be cut short. If you spot a rare variant, grab it before the round ends.

Sprites and variants with boosted spawn rates

You can find any Sprite during a Shiny Hours session, but a set list receives increased spawn rates for their rare variants. The event is built around Hot Bat Summer, so the Batman Sprite gets the largest boost.

Featured SpriteBoosted variants
Batman SpriteBase, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil
Seven SpriteBase, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil
Air SpriteBase, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil

Across the wider pool, the Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil Special Sprite variants all appear more often during the two-hour windows. This combination of boosted spawns and a guaranteed Sprite from the Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly is what makes Power Hour the most efficient time to finish a collection.

How to confirm Shiny Hours is active

When a session is live, the in-game menu displays a “Shiny Hours” card with the message “Shine on!” and lists the active times, for example 2 – 4 PM ET and 9 – 11 PM ET. If you drop in and start the match already holding a Batman Grapnel Gun and a Self-Revive Device, the modifiers are running.

If you don’t see the starting gear or the Shiny Hours card, the window is closed. Check the session times for your region above and rejoin during one of the two Saturday windows, since the boosted rates and the guaranteed Sprite anomaly only apply while a session is active.

Play both sessions if you can. With four total hours of boosted Batman, Seven, and Air Sprite spawns, guaranteed Special Sprites, and free mobility gear, Shiny Hours remains the fastest route to filling out your Hot Bat Summer Sprite collection.
