Spirit of the Moonblade is a Secret, unit-specific piece of equipment in Anime Expeditions built for Reaper (Released). It carries Critical Chance and Critical Damage substats and replaces Reaper’s original passive with Adaptation, which scales the unit up as it fights more enemy types. There are two reliable ways to add it to your collection.
Quick answer: Clear Spirit City Raid Act 1 on Mastery difficulty for a 5% drop with 20-clear pity, or craft it at the Armory Forge in the Expedition Hub using Expedition materials.

What you need before farming
This equipment only slots onto Reaper in its Released form. The passive will not do anything on any other unit, and the game blocks you from equipping it elsewhere, so make sure you have that unit before you spend runs or materials.
The drop route is locked behind Mastery difficulty. Spirit City Raid Act 1 must be cleared on Mastery for the item to appear in the reward pool. If you plan to craft instead, you need Expedition materials farmed from the Expeditions game mode.

Every Mastery drop uses the same odds. You have a 5% chance per clear, and a 20-clear pity guarantees the piece if it has not dropped by your 20th run. Because the odds are low, budget for the full pity rather than expecting an early roll.
| Route | Where | Cost or odds |
|---|---|---|
| Mastery drop | Spirit City Raid Act 1 (Mastery) | 5% per clear, 20-clear pity |
| Crafting | Armory Forge (Expedition Hub) | Expedition materials |
The Armory Forge is the safer choice if you dislike gambling on drops. It lets you build the piece directly from materials you gather in Expeditions, so your progress is guaranteed once you have enough of each resource.
| Crafting material | Where it drops (Expeditions) |
|---|---|
| Cursed Timber | School Grounds |
| Lush Dirt | Flower Forest |
| Aqua Shard | Rose Kingdom |
| Equipment Scrap | School Grounds, Flower Forest, Rose Kingdom |
| Fuel Cell | School Grounds, Flower Forest, Rose Kingdom |

Stats and the Adaptation passive
The substats roll within a range, so the numbers you land can differ from run to run. An example roll shows +2.8% Critical Chance and +3.7% Critical Damage. The bigger draw is the passive, which overrides Reaper’s original one.
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Unit Equipment (Secret) |
| Required unit | Reaper (Released) |
| Substats | Critical Chance and Critical Damage |
| Passive | Adaptation |
Adaptation grants a permanent buff for each different enemy type Reaper attacks. Every new enemy type adds +10% Damage and +10% Critical Chance, and those gains stay for the rest of the stage. That makes the piece strongest in multi-wave content and boss stages that throw mixed enemy types at you.
How to reroll the substats
Because both substats roll inside a range, your first copy rarely lands ideal values. Two items fix that. The Equipment Reroll changes the substats, and the Equipment Lock holds one substat in place so only the rest change.

How to confirm it is equipped
Open the Items menu and equip Spirit of the Moonblade onto Reaper. If you try to place it on any other unit, the game refuses to slot it, which confirms it is the correct unit-specific piece. Once equipped, Reaper’s stat panel updates with the new Critical Chance and Critical Damage bonuses.
The Adaptation passive only shows its effect during a stage. As Reaper attacks each new enemy type, its Damage and Critical Chance climb by 10% per type, so the buff becomes visible in combat rather than on the loadout screen.
