The King’s Crown is a Vanguard Familiar added in the Extermination Event Part 2 update for Anime Vanguards. It attaches to a single unit, Saber (Black Tyrant), and adds three passive effects that push her damage far higher than her base kit allows.

Quick answer: Buy the King’s Crown for 200 Copycat Tokens from the Cursed Copycat boss shop, then equip it to Saber (Black Tyrant) through the Familiar tab in her unit menu.

What the King’s Crown requires

The King’s Crown only works with Saber (Black Tyrant), a Secret-rarity unit. Like every Vanguard Familiar, it is locked to that one character and cannot be moved onto another unit. It also cannot be corrupted or rerolled, so its stats are fixed the moment you equip it.

Because it is tied to a Secret unit, the Familiar only matters if you already own Saber (Black Tyrant). Owning the crown without the unit provides no benefit.

How to get the King’s Crown

The crown is a straight shop purchase, so there is no drop-rate gamble involved. The grind sits entirely in gathering the currency it costs.

Run the new Boss Rush, where Cursed Copycat and Cursed Gourmet fight for control of the battlefield. Clearing it pays out Copycat Tokens.
Keep clearing runs until you bank 200 Copycat Tokens. The total is manageable, though it takes several clears to reach.
Open the Cursed Copycat boss shop and buy the King’s Crown for 200 tokens.
Select Saber (Black Tyrant), open the Familiar tab in the upper-right of her unit menu, and equip the King’s Crown. Once equipped, her passives change to reflect the crown’s effects.

King’s Crown passive abilities

The Familiar grants three passives. One is a flat damage multiplier, while the other two rework Saber (Black Tyrant)’s existing abilities and add synergy with Sokora units.

Corrupted Knight

  • Saber (Black Tyrant) gains 6,000% Damage.

Wrongs Righted

  • In the Aura of Corruption passive, the 20% Slow becomes a 50% Slow, and allies no longer take the SPA increase.
  • In the Dark Excalibur passive, the damage bonus now boosts damage dealt instead of the damage stat.
  • Every time she attacks with Dark Excalibur, she buffs herself by 200% Damage and 30% Range for 60 seconds.

Twisted Protector

  • While a Sokora unit is in range, that unit gains 10% of Saber (Black Tyrant)’s damage.
  • When a Sokora unit in range is sold, its placement is not refunded. Saber (Black Tyrant) instantly readies Dark Excalibur and buffs her own damage by 300% for 60 seconds.

What to expect after equipping it

The combined damage multiplier and reworked passives lift Saber (Black Tyrant) into usable territory for current endgame content. She is not the strongest DPS in the roster, but the crown makes her capable enough to carry most stages as a damage unit.

Note: Twisted Protector rewards running Sokora units alongside her. The lingering 300% self-buff from selling a Sokora unit lets you chain Dark Excalibur activations for burst windows against tough waves.

Since Vanguard Familiar passives can be adjusted in later patches, the exact percentages may shift. Equip the crown, verify her passives now read Corrupted Knight, Wrongs Righted, and Twisted Protector, and you will know the Familiar is active on the unit.
