Meow Meows are disguised magical cats scattered across the Jianghu in Where Winds Meet. Each one sits beside a glowing red sword planted in the ground. Grab the hilt and you trigger a short challenge, and clearing it feeds your Sentient Beings collection while paying out currency you can spend later at the Meow Meow Temples.
Quick answer: Walk up to a red sword, interact with the hilt to start the puzzle, and finish the task before the timer runs out or the condition is met. Every completed puzzle grants Echo Jade, Bells, coins, Oscillating Jade, EXP, and regional exploration progress.

What each Meow Meow puzzle rewards
The payout is fixed for a standard puzzle. Some environmental puzzles also add Erudition points, which count toward your character’s knowledge progress.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Echo Jade | 5 |
| Bells | 5 |
| Coins | 2,500 |
| Oscillating Jade | 2 |
| EXP | 2,500 |
| Regional exploration points | 30 |
The Bells matter most in the long run. They are the currency the Meow Meow Temples accept, so treat every puzzle as progress toward temple stock rather than throwaway loot.

The Qinghe temple sits at Halo Peak, near the Path of Void boundary stone. The Kaifeng temple is tucked inside the underground Ghost Market. Both stay hidden until you have cleared enough puzzles in that area, so a temple that has not appeared on your map yet just means you need more completions first.
Inside, you trade Bells for special equipment, rare consumables, and cosmetic items. The shop rotates, so it is worth returning after major updates. You can also pet the extra cats wandering the temple, which adds them to your Sentient Beings collection and grants friendship rewards.

How to confirm a puzzle counted
A cleared Meow Meow plays a completion animation and drops its reward pouch on the spot, and the red sword disappears once you have finished. Your regional exploration percentage ticks up by the same amount every time, so if the number moved, the puzzle registered. Bells land in your inventory immediately and carry over to the temple shop.
Timed challenges are the most common reason a puzzle fails to complete. If a Will-o’-the-Wisp run or Bamboocut resets, you simply ran out of time or missed a target, and you can retrigger the sword to try again with no penalty. Keep a Lightness Skill ready for the Cat Chase puzzles, since those cats break away fast and there is little room to recover a slow start.
