Fortnite: How to Get Quack Sprites (All Four Variants)

Quack Sprites skip chests entirely and only unlock through Sprite Mastery, so here is what each one needs.

Quack Sprites arrived in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners with the v41.30 update on July 30, 2026, and they do not behave like any other Sprite. You cannot pull them from a Sprite Chest, reveal them with a Locator, or knock them off a boss. The only reliable way to add them to your collection is by grinding Sprite Mastery.

Quick answer: Master 35 Sprites to unlock the Quack Water Sprite, 40 for Quack Earth, 45 for Quack Fire, and 55 for Quack Zero Point. To master a Sprite, level it to Level 5 and extract it. Each Quack Sprite appears in your Mastery Rewards menu automatically once you hit its number.

All four Quack Sprites and their mastery requirements

There are four Quack Sprites in the game right now. Each one is a Special Variant, meaning it keeps the ability of its base Sprite and layers a shared bonus on top. The individual powers scale as you level each Sprite from 1 to 5.

Quack Zero Point is the hard one. Fifty-five mastered Sprites is a long grind, especially deep into the season. If your mastered count is already in the mid-30s, though, Quack Water and Quack Earth are close enough to pick up without much extra effort.

How to unlock Quack Sprites through Sprite Mastery

Every Quack Sprite is locked behind Sprite Mastery Rewards. Chest routes, the Lucky Locator, and the Sprite Locator all do nothing here. Progress carries across matches, and any Sprite you have already mastered this season counts toward your total.

Find and pick up any Sprite during a match. It does not matter which one, because every mastered Sprite counts toward the same total.
Level that Sprite to Level 5. Feeding it Sprite XP or using Quack Snacks from a Mending Machine both work to hit the cap quickly.
Extract the Sprite at an Extraction Site, or use a Portable Extractor if you are too far from one. Only a Level 5 Sprite that is successfully extracted counts as mastered.
Repeat until your mastered count reaches 35, 40, 45, or 55. When you cross each milestone, the matching Quack Sprite unlocks automatically in your rewards menu.

Tip: If you are unsure how many Sprites you have mastered, open your collection before your next match. Many players are one or two extractions away from their first Quack Sprite without realizing it.

Grabbing a Quack Sprite mid-match without the grind

There are two shortcuts that skip the Mastery requirement entirely. If you eliminate a player who is carrying a Quack Sprite, it drops and you can pick it up. You can also trade for a spare one with a teammate.

Once a Quack Sprite is saved in your Sprite Collection, it stays yours. If you lose it during a match, you can summon it back with Sprite Dust as long as it is already recorded in your collection.

What the Quack XP bonus does

The shared trait every Quack Sprite carries is a passive XP boost for your whole loadout. When a Quack Sprite earns XP, every other Sprite in your match inventory automatically gains an extra 50% of that XP.

That effect matters because it pushes your entire inventory forward at once instead of one Sprite at a time. It also makes Quack Sprites useful for leveling rarer Sprites you plan to trade or master later. On top of that shared bonus, each Quack Sprite still fires its own individual power, which grows stronger as it climbs to Level 5.

Confirming you unlocked one

You know a Quack Sprite is yours when it shows up in the Sprite Mastery Rewards menu after you cross the required mastered count. From there it sits in your permanent collection and can be brought into future matches. If a Quack Sprite is not appearing, the usual reason is that a Level 5 Sprite was never extracted. Picking up and leveling a Sprite alone does not count toward mastery, so the extraction has to finish before you are eliminated.
