Taurus is a Chapter 4 boss in Beast of Reincarnation that Emma faces twice, once mid-chapter and again at the very end. The fight punishes reckless swings, so the win comes from patient parrying and feeding damage through Koo rather than trading blows.
Quick answer: Bring weapons or items that inflict Acid, parry the three-hit horn swing to build FP for Koo, dodge the root and shockwave attacks, and stay defensive. Drop its health to about 50 percent in the first fight to make it flee and unlock the Charging Botan skill.

Taurus weakness: Acid
Taurus is weak to Acid, one of the elemental afflictions in the game. You can technically clear the fight without it, but applying Acid softens the boss and shortens both encounters by a large margin. Load out any weapon, ammo, or item that can trigger the Acid effect before you enter the arena.
Parrying is the second half of the plan. A clean parry fills your FP gauge, which powers Koo’s command skills. Those skills are where most of your damage should come from, so treat defense as your main way to deal damage rather than an interruption to it.

The first fight happens in the middle of Chapter 4. Taurus works off a small set of readable patterns, so once you recognize the tells, the fight settles into a rhythm of dodge, parry, and Koo commands.
| Attack | Response |
|---|---|
| Slams its legs on the ground, causing roots to burst up | Side-step or step backwards to avoid the root damage |
| Swings its horns three times | Parry each swing to build the command gauge for Koo |
| Fires projectiles from its tails | Watch the tails and move to avoid the shots |
| Moves away and slams down to create shockwaves | Spot the wave early and step clear of its path |
Do not force in your own combos. Being aggressive leaves you open to the root and horn attacks, and it does far less than a full parry-and-Koo cycle. Focus on landing parries to charge FP, then release Koo to dish out damage.
Once you cut its health to roughly 50 percent, Taurus runs away and the phase ends. Clearing this threshold unlocks the Nushi Skill: Charging Botan, which you can carry into later combat.
Second encounter: what changes at the end of Chapter 4
The rematch closes out Chapter 4 and keeps most of the same moves, with a few tweaks that raise the pressure. Adjust two habits and it stays manageable.
- The roots now grow a flower at their base. Dodge backwards to clear them cleanly.
- The horn strike hits once instead of three times. After it connects, Taurus dashes to the far side of the arena and follows up with either the shockwave slam or a tail projectile volley.
Keep applying Acid to weaken it, and use the Bind ability to slow Taurus during its charge across the arena. Binding the charge robs it of the reposition it relies on and opens a window for Koo. Confirm the kill when the health bar empties and Chapter 4 progresses past the fight.
Note: If Taurus is not staggering, you are likely rolling away from parries instead of taking them. Committing to parries is what fills FP, so a passive, dodge-only approach starves Koo and drags the fight out.
