Kim is one of the last residents you meet in Moonlight Peaks, and she is worth the wait. She stays hidden for close to a full in-game year, tucked away in a part of the map you cannot reach at the start. Once you do find her, she is friendly, upbeat, and open to more than friendship if you want to pursue romance.

Kim is a mermaid and a member of the Hosu family, alongside her brother Tae and her sister Rei. She has a boundlessly energetic, sunny personality, and she arrives in town roughly a year into the story. Her introduction sets up a larger storyline, so meeting her signals that a new part of the game is opening up.
Where to find Kim
For much of the early game, a heavy fog covers the top of the map and blocks access to what lies beneath it. That area is Luna Bay, and it is where the town’s mermaids live. Once the story lifts the fog, Kim becomes reachable.
You will usually find her swimming close to the shore in Luna Bay. She also wanders into town from time to time, so her exact spot changes during the day. Open the map and look for her character icon to see where she is before you head out to visit.
Kim’s gift preferences and birthday
Gifts are the fastest way to raise your friendship and romance hearts with Kim. She responds well to natural, seaside items and reacts poorly to anything that pollutes the water. Bring her favorites when you know you will run into her.

After a drama-free wedding, Kim moves onto your farm, though she keeps her love of swimming. Keep in mind that you cannot have children in Moonlight Peaks, so parenthood is not part of married life with any partner.
The quest that connects Kim to the story
Kim’s arc ties directly into a quest called The Mysterious Bay. Part of it involves reuniting her with a lost love, and it starts when you deliver a letter from Samael to Kim. Completing the quest also opens up more of the Luna Bay area.
The quest asks you to lift a fallen tree at a small waterfall. Despite Luna Bay sitting near the Howling Marshes, that tree is actually in Moonlit Pines, just west of the stairs leading to Luna’s cottage and near her seed stall. You clear it by casting the Arborascend spell, which you buy from Sabrina at Webb of Wonders for 3 Mana per cast. The casting gesture is down, up, right, left, up, and it also appears in the first Almanac tab if the cast fails.
Progressing this line matters if you plan to romance Samael as well, since finishing The Mysterious Bay is one of the gates before his later relationship hearts become available. For Kim, it is simply the moment her story starts moving forward, and it makes the long wait to meet her feel earned.
