The Laboratory on the second floor of Animal Hospital lets you turn patient DNA into serums using three-letter codes built from four ingredients. Pink serums are thrown at patients, visitors, and NPCs to change them, while green serums are drunk by you to change your own character. Getting the right code matters because only some combinations produce a usable vial.
Quick answer: The four ingredients are A = Pink Jelly, C = Ginger, G = Milk, T = Purple Mushroom. Enter a valid three-letter code at the mixing table, wait for the 30-second timer, then use the Vial Press to get your serum.

The four DNA ingredients and their letters
Every recipe is a three-letter code, and each letter maps to a specific shelf item in the Lab. Keep this mapping in mind before you start mixing.
| DNA letter | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| A | Pink Jelly |
| C | Ginger |
| G | Milk |
| T | Purple Mushroom |

The Laboratory and the entire second floor unlock after your first ambulance visit during a shift. In skip-tutorial mode, the second floor is available from the start. Once it is open, the DNA Sampler tool and all four ingredients become usable.

You know a mix worked when the timer starts and the Vial Press hands you a colored vial. If no timer appears, the combination is unstable and nothing is produced.
Pink serum recipes (thrown at patients and NPCs)
Pink serums come from healthy patient samples and are aimed at other characters. Each code below is confirmed to produce an effect.
| Code | Effect |
|---|---|
| TTT | Patient turns into a Mimic and starts attacking |
| AAA | Shrinks the patient |
| CCC | Patient produces slime rapidly |
| GGG | Turns the patient into a fish |
| TAG | Makes the patient invisible |
| GAT | Sets the patient on fire |
| AGA | Changes the patient’s eyes; looking at them drains your Sanity |
| TTC | Makes the patient slower |
| GAC | Patient constantly changes fur color |
| CAG | Makes the patient slightly faster |
| TCT | Starts a fire |
| ATT | Starts a fire |
| ACA | Gives the patient or NPC hair |
| CTT | Makes the patient very fast |
| GCG | Patient starts to glow |
Green serum recipes (drunk by you)
Green serums come from anomaly patient samples and affect your own character when you drink them.
| Code | Effect |
|---|---|
| CGT | Player starts dancing |
| ATA | Player shrinks |
| ACG | Shows the message “You drank a strange serum” |
| GTG | Player turns into a ghost |
| CAC | Player transforms into a clown |
| TGC | Gives the player -5 detection radius |

Unstable combinations that produce nothing
These codes have been tested and fail. They do not start the timer and do not create a vial, so you lose the sample and have to start over.
| Code | Result |
|---|---|
| ATA | Unstable |
| ATG | Unstable |
| CAC | Unstable |
| CTC | Unstable |
| GAG | Unstable |
| GTG | Unstable |
| TAT | Unstable |
| TCT | Unstable |
| TGT | Unstable |
Note: A few codes, including CAC, GTG, and TCT, show up on both the working and unstable lists as testing continues. Treat them as unconfirmed and let the in-game result decide, since the sample color you used can change whether a code succeeds.

Strongest serums to prioritize
TTT is the most dramatic pink serum because it turns a patient into a Mimic that actively attacks, which causes real chaos during a shift. For green serums, GTG (ghost) and CAC (clown) give the most complete transformations, while TGC is practical because the -5 detection radius makes it easier to move around without triggering certain reactions.
There are 64 possible three-letter permutations using A, C, G, and T, and only part of them are confirmed so far. If a code you enter does not start the 30-second timer, it is unstable, and swapping the sample color from a different patient is often what makes a borderline code succeed.
