Aizen’s Illusionist spec in Anime Apocalypse now has an evolution: Transcendent Illusionist. It arrived alongside an Invasion rework, a new Invasion boss, and a matching title and cosmetic set, and it replaces the old Illusionist kit with an entirely different set of moves once you equip it.
Quick answer: Evolve Illusionist at the abilities Evolve station with 100 Mastery, 10 Invasion wins, 10 million Coins, and the new Invasion drops. It then appears as Illusionist (EVOLUTION) in the spec menu.
Transcendent Illusionist evolution requirements
You need the base Illusionist ability first, and you need it fully leveled. Every requirement below has to be met at the same time before the evolution becomes available.
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Illusionist Mastery | 100 |
| Invasion wins | 10 |
| Coins | 10,000,000 |
| Invasion drops | New Invasion drops |
Mastery is earned only by killing enemies while that specific ability is equipped, and it does not carry over from any other spec. Mastery 100 is also the point where the base Illusionist V-skill unlocks, so most players hit the requirement naturally while grinding toward the evolution.
A trait attached to an ability is deleted when you swap that ability out. Roll traits after you have settled on the version you plan to main.

The Invasion wins and the drops you need both come from the reworked Invasion mode, which you queue for through the match creation menu on the Reaper’s Hideout map. The Invasion boss is the Aizen encounter added in the same update, and it is the source of the new title drop.
If you just want to test the moveset without farming, Hollow World Infinite is the fastest sandbox. Waves scale endlessly, which makes it easy to watch cooldowns and damage numbers over a long run.

Transcendent Illusionist moveset (Z, X, C, V, G)
Equipping Illusionist (EVOLUTION) swaps the entire kit. Nothing from the base ability carries over except the M1 attack strings.
| Key | Move | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Z | Spiritual Orb | Projectile that tracks enemies |
| X | Conquer and Despair | Damaging aura around you |
| C | Reached Heaven | Multiple forward slashes |
| V | Hado 90 | Box attack |
| G | Ultimate | Aerial dragon slash cutscene |
The kit is built around area clear rather than single-target poking. Spiritual Orb does the chip work between cooldowns because it homes in on targets, while Conquer and Despair covers everything standing next to you. Reached Heaven and Hado 90 are your wave-clear tools, and the G ultimate plays a cutscene before landing.
Spiritual Gauge and Spiritual Pressure
The evolution adds a Spiritual Gauge meter that fills through M1 attacks. Filling it triggers the Spiritual Pressure effect, which means basic attacks are not filler here — they feed the mechanic that powers the rest of the kit.

Base Illusionist kit for comparison
Before evolving, Illusionist runs Spiritual Pressure on Z, Raikoho on X, Shunpo Storm on C, Goryu Tenmetsu on V, and Hado #90: Kurohitsugi as the G ultimate. The base ability is obtained through the Illusionist Quest, which asks for Wave 100 in Infinite, 25 Titan Defense games, 1.5M Coins, five Sorcerer raid boss kills, 25 Survival runs, and 7,500 enemy kills.

On the current ability rankings, base Illusionist sits at B for damage and raids and A for survival. The evolution has not been slotted into those ability tiers yet, though its title and cosmetics have already been ranked near the top.
Transcendent Illusionist title and cosmetics
The update shipped three collectibles tied to the evolution, and they are worth chasing on their own because titles and cosmetics both carry stat bonuses in this game.
- Transcendent Illusionist (title) — an 8% drop from the Aizen Invasion boss, ranked SS tier.
- Transcendent Illusionist Outfit — S-tier cosmetic.
- The Eye Patch — S-tier cosmetic.
Only the World 5 title ranks above Transcendent Illusionist, and that one requires a top-five leaderboard placement. For most players the Invasion boss drop is the realistic best-in-slot title.
Both cosmetics also appear in the Store as part of the Transcendent Illusionist Bundle, sold next to the Reapers Hideout Bundle.

Best trait, gadget and upgrades for the evolved spec
The kit leans on cooldowns, so the whole build should point in that direction.
Trait: Flash
Flash is the Mythic trait to reroll for. It grants +20% damage, +25% attack speed, +7 Walkspeed, +20% cooldown reduction, and +5% lifesteal. The attack speed matters more than usual here because M1s build the Spiritual Gauge. Reroll at the Traits menu after the evolution is equipped, not before.

Gadget: Ice Amulet
Ice Amulet is S tier for both early and endgame play, which makes it the safest pick out of the gadget spin. Soul Candy and Rage are the other S-tier options if the spin does not cooperate.
Upgrade points: max Cooldowns
In the upgrades menu for Illusionist (EVOLUTION), push points into Cooldowns until it is maxed. More uptime on Reached Heaven and Hado 90 does more for wave clear than a small damage bump on any single cast.
Resetting ability upgrades does not refund what you spent, so commit the points deliberately.

Codes: INVASION and TRANSCENDENT
Two codes shipped with the update. Open the Codes menu from the lobby and redeem INVASION and TRANSCENDENT for rewards, which help with the reroll and spin costs described above.
How to confirm the evolution worked
Once every requirement is met and the evolution goes through, Illusionist (EVOLUTION) shows up as its own entry in the spec menu and can be equipped from the character selection screen. Its upgrades menu is separate from the base ability’s, and the first match will open with Spiritual Orb on Z instead of Spiritual Pressure.
If the Evolve station still says the ability has no evolution available, the requirements are not all satisfied yet — that same prompt appears on any spec without an unlocked evolution path. Check Mastery and Invasion win counts before spending anything else.
