Anime Expeditions: How to Get the Spirit of the Moonblade

Farm Spirit City Act 1 or craft the piece at the Armory Forge to give Reaper a doubled Adaptation passive.

The Spirit of the Moonblade is a Secret Unit Equipment built for Reaper (Released), the Mythic-rarity unit in Anime Expeditions. It raises Reaper’s Critical Chance and Critical Damage and replaces his Adaptation passive with a stronger version that scales as he fights more enemy types. Because it is unit-specific gear, it will only slot onto Reaper and does nothing on any other character.

Quick answer: Clear the Spirit City Raid Act 1 stage against the Glam Reaper boss for a 5% drop chance. If it has not dropped after 20 clears, the pity system guarantees it. You can also craft it at the Armory Forge in the Expedition Hub.

Unlock the Spirit City Raid first

The Spirit of the Moonblade only comes from Raid content, so you need Raids unlocked before you can farm it. Raids open once your account reaches Level 25.

Open the menu on the left and select Areas, then move to the Gamemode tab and choose Raids.
Walk up to the raid entrance and press E to open the raid selection menu. From here you can queue for other players or attempt the run solo.
Pick Spirit City Act 1. This is the stage that ends with the Glam Reaper boss and the one that can drop the Spirit of the Moonblade.

Drop rate and pity from Spirit City Act 1

Each completed clear of Spirit City Act 1 gives a 5% chance to receive the Spirit of the Moonblade. The stage also runs a 20-clear pity counter, so beating the Glam Reaper 20 times guarantees the piece if you have not already pulled it. Hair Bells for 8th Sword (Berserk) shares this same Act 1 loot pool and follows the same 5% chance with 20 pity.

Spirit City runs an Immunity modifier on every act, which blocks control effects. Act 1 also uses Bulwark, giving the boss a short damage-immune window every 10 seconds. Bring raw damage and strong range rather than a control-heavy team, and hold big bursts until the Bulwark window ends.

Craft it at the Armory Forge instead

If you would rather not gamble on raid drops, the Armory Forge inside the Expedition Hub lets you build the Spirit of the Moonblade directly. Crafting uses materials farmed from the Expeditions game mode, so it is a steady alternative to grinding Act 1.

Stats and the Adaptation passive

The Spirit of the Moonblade carries two rollable substats, Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Each rolls somewhere between +1% and +10%, and example rolls land around +2.8% Critical Chance and +3.7% Critical Damage. Because both stats sit inside a range, you can use Equipment Rerolls to push toward higher values.

The real value is the passive. When equipped on Reaper (Released), the Spirit of the Moonblade overrides his original Adaptation passive with an upgraded version. For every unique enemy type Reaper attacks, he permanently gains 10% Damage and 10% Critical Chance, and these buffs stack as he meets new types. That is double the bonus of his base passive, which makes the gear ideal for mixed-enemy stages where he keeps encountering fresh enemy types.

Critical Chance substat+1% to +10%
Critical Damage substat+1% to +10%
Adaptation (per new enemy type)+10% Damage, +10% Critical Chance, permanent

Reroll the stats without wasting rolls

Since both substats roll in a range, your first pull often lands low. An Equipment Reroll changes the substats, while an Equipment Lock holds one substat in place so only the other one changes. Both items come from Daily and Weekly Challenges and are sold in the Gold Shop, Raid Shop, Spirit City Raid Shop, and Event Shop. In the Gold Shop, an Equipment Reroll costs 2,500 Gold.

Lock the higher roll first, then reroll the remaining stat so you never lose the good value. Only invest rerolls into gear you plan to keep long term, and prioritize your main carry before anything on the bench.

Confirm the equipment is working

Open the Items menu and equip the Spirit of the Moonblade to Reaper (Released). Unit-specific gear refuses to slot onto any other character, so if it attaches cleanly you have the right unit. Once equipped, Reaper’s stat panel updates with the new Critical bonuses, and his Adaptation passive shows the upgraded 10% per enemy type scaling.

Keep Reaper positioned where he faces a variety of enemy types during a run, since the buff only grows when he attacks something new. On stages that throw the same enemy type at you repeatedly, the passive plateaus quickly, so the gear pays off most in longer, mixed-wave content and raids.
