Anime Vanguards Update 14.5: How to Get All New Vanguard Familiars

Every Vanguard Familiar added across Update 14.5, the unit each one equips to, and the exact route that awards it.

Update 14.5 stacked more Vanguard Familiars into Anime Vanguards than any previous patch, and none of them come from a banner. Each one is welded to a single unit, and each one sits behind a specific activity — an event shop, a currency shop, a Unit Trial, a Worldlines rerun floor, or the bounty board. Knowing which route pays out which familiar is the whole task.

Quick answer: The five newest familiars cost 1,000 Wrath Coins each in the Wrath Event Shop. The earlier Update 14.5 familiars come from shops, Unit Trials, Worldlines Floor 25 reruns, Bounties, and Occult Hunt.

All Update 14.5 Vanguard Familiars and the units they equip to

A Vanguard Familiar is locked to one unit and cannot be moved to another. They also cannot be Corrupted or Rerolled, so whatever you pull out of the shop or the trial is the final version. Here is the full Update 14.5 set and the route that hands each one over.

How to buy the five Wrath Event Shop familiars

Black Smith’s Hammer, Holy Sword, Iron Helmet, Scrap Bluntsword and Witch’s Staff all live in the same place. There is no drop chance and no pity involved, just a flat price of 1,000 Wrath Coins per familiar, and coins only come from playing the Wrath Event mode itself.

Load into the main lobby and walk from the spawn area toward the center. The event NPCs are clustered there, each marked with a green interaction circle.

Interact with the Wrath Event NPC to open the event menu. This is the same panel that holds the mode entry and the shop tab.

Run the Wrath Event game mode and complete matches. Clearing runs is the only thing that pays Wrath Coins, so this is where the actual grind sits.
Open the Event Shop tab inside that same menu. Your current coin total is shown at the top, alongside the other stock such as Corruption Crystal, Elemental Shard, Memoria Shards, Phoenix Shard and Trait Rerolls.
Buy the familiars you want at 1,000 coins each. Prioritize the one attached to a unit you actually field, since a familiar is dead weight without its owner.

Damage values differ sharply across this set. Holy Sword carries a 3000% damage line, Iron Helmet sits at 2000%, and Scrap Bluntsword at 1000%. Iron Helmet is also the only one in the group that covers more than one unit, since it works across all three Falcon forms.

Familiars you buy with currency: Dungeon Shop, Rift Shop, and Gold Shop

Four familiars are pure purchases, which makes them the most predictable route in the whole update. There is no drop roll to lose, only a currency total to hit.

  • Rose Bundle — Lunar Bridge Dungeon Shop for 1,000 Controller Tokens, for Lfelt (Love).
  • Sealed Spell Scroll — also from the Lunar Bridge Dungeon Shop, for Goblin Killer (Trapper).
  • Petrified Soul — Rift Shop, traded for Rift Shards, for Yehowach (Almighty).
  • Monkey King’s Circlet and Sword of Rupture — Gold Shop, for Rogita (Super 4) and Gilgamesh (King of Heroes).

Controller Tokens are the Lunar Bridge currency, and the payout scales with depth. Floor 1 gives 5 tokens per clear and Floor 11 gives 60, so the fastest path to 1,000 is the highest floor you can beat reliably rather than repeated low-floor farming. Units in the Demon Controller category deal double damage inside the dungeon, which makes those clears considerably faster.

The Dungeon Shop also stocks Stat Chips, Trait Rerolls, Rainbow Essence and other consumables from the same token pool. Hold off on those until Rose Bundle is paid for, or you will stall at 900-odd tokens.

Unit Trial familiars: Candy Ball, Turtle Symbol, and Cannon Ball

Three familiars are tied to Unit Trials, and the reward is guaranteed on a clear rather than rolled. Candy Ball drops from the Boo Unit Trial, Turtle Symbol from the Roku Unit Trial, and Cannon Ball from The Struggler Unit Trial. Open the Trials menu from the lobby, select the trial matching the unit you want the familiar for, and start the run.

The Trials route for Candy Ball was broken around the update’s launch. If the reward is not appearing where it should, wait for a server refresh or a patch-side fix instead of spending currency elsewhere trying to force it.

Worldlines Floor 25 familiars, Bounties, and Occult Hunt

Military Cap and Donut from Worldlines reruns

Worldlines reruns pay their Vanguard Familiar at Floor 25, with the unit itself waiting at Floor 50. Military Cap comes from the Isdead rerun and Donut from the Clatakiri rerun. Push the rerun path to Floor 25 and the familiar is claimed from the floor reward rather than rolled.

Bounty Hunter’s Handcuff from the bounty board

This is the one Update 14.5 familiar built around a drop chance. Speak to the Bounty Hunter NPC in the lobby, open the Bounties list, and complete bounties to roll for the Handcuff. The chance is displayed on the bounty entry itself, so check it before committing a session to it.

Cell Phone from Occult Hunt

Cell Phone belongs to Divalo (Requiem) and comes out of Occult Hunt. It is the only familiar in the set tied to that mode, so there is no alternative route if Occult Hunt is not running on your server build.

How to equip a Vanguard Familiar and confirm it worked

Open the Units menu and switch to the Familiars tab. Owned familiars appear here with their exclusivity line, which names the only unit that can hold them.
Select the Vanguard Familiar and press Equip, then choose the matching unit and confirm with Select. The game will not let you attach it to anything else.
Check that the Equip button has been replaced by Unequip. That swap is the confirmation that the familiar is live on the unit, and the unit’s card will now show the familiar’s passives alongside its own.

If you are working through all seventeen, the Wrath Event Shop is the cleanest starting point because the price is fixed and the coins come from one repeatable mode. The Lunar Bridge Dungeon Shop is the natural second stop, since the same token grind covers both Rose Bundle and Sealed Spell Scroll. Everything else is either a single trial clear or a floor reward, and only the Bounty Hunter’s Handcuff asks you to gamble on a drop rate.
