A Buried Mine is a hazard you meet only while a map condition is running; in an ordinary round there are none. It belongs to the Locked Gate condition on The Blue Gate, a difficulty 4 of 5 condition, which has 18 spots for Buried Mines across the map.
Not every spot is filled each round: the round picks some of them when it starts, so a path that was clear last time can be mined the next. Pilgrim's Peak has the most spots with 7, followed by Ancient Fort with 4 and Raider's Refuge with 2, so watch your footing most closely in those places during a Locked Gate round.
