Rose on a wooden dock as the cathedral town burns across the river

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse has 29 achievements on Steam and Xbox, where they are worth 1,000 Gamerscore. On PlayStation 5 the same 29 objectives appear as trophies with matching names, plus a platinum called The legendary vampire hunter for collecting all the others. That makes 30 trophies: 1 Platinum, 5 Gold, 10 Silver and 14 Bronze. Seventeen are hidden and show only their title until you earn them. The other 12 show their full description from the start.

Quick answer: Beat all twelve bosses, see all three endings, collect every weapon, heart fragment, clue, Mirror of Life and Gift, reach 100% Progress, and finish one run in under 4 hours with Custom Mode off.

Achievements are awarded as soon as their requirements are fulfilled. On PS5, the “Trophy earned!” notification confirms it. Hidden achievements cover boss defeats, all three endings, the Judge’s verdict, and True Belmont.

Boss achievements and where each fight happens

Twelve achievements pop when a boss falls. The in-game descriptions use each boss’s Arcana title, so the table pairs every title with the boss behind it. Most of these come naturally on the main route. Four of them have conditions that are easy to miss, and they are covered below the table.

Joan and Death each appear in more than one place. Flammable or inflammable? is earned in your first fight with Joan on the Roof of the Tower. Death… killed? is earned when Death falls at Notre-Dame, not in his earlier appearance in the Catacombs of Paris. Blood for Blood unlocks on the kill itself, before you absorb The Occultist card.

I am Arthur, King of the Britons

Arthur is an optional boss and does not appear unless you trigger him. Equip Fist of Talos, the spell from The Builder. Then go back to the sword at the Chapel altar in Notre-Dame and keep pressing INTERACT (R1 on PS5, RB on Xbox, E on PC) until a cutscene plays. The fight starts after that. Arthur has 11,000 health and resists most crowd control, including bleed and burn. Beating him drops Excalibur and the Stained-Glass Shield spell.

Heroine faces a dark armored knight raising a sword on a burning bridge; Joan's portrait and partial dialogue box shown.
Joan raises her sword on a burning bridge before Notre-Dame as her dialogue about the Belmont family begins to appear.

Finish Hector’s work

You meet Isaac more than once. The earlier battle on the bridge is an illusion and does not count. The achievement only registers for the later fight in the Heart of the Clock in the Clock Tower. That fight runs in five phases and rewards Chronomantic Dive.

All that glitters is not gold.

Mammon’s Lair branches away from the main route in the Catacombs of Paris. Reach the Circle of Greed, then pass through its eye door into the arena. Mammon has 8,000 health and drops Wheel of Chaos.

Shadow Work

Rose’s shadow, the Doppelganger, shows up as “???” in the boss bar. It is only available after you complete the four virtue trials. You then enter the Gallery of the Four Virtues from the Notre-Dame altar. Winning gives you The Self Arcana, its Absolution spell and a new skin for Rose. You need Absolution for the true ending, so this fight also comes before Curse lifted.

Rose stands on a stone rampart facing a kneeling armored Joan before a burning cathedral, with Rose's dialogue box below.
Rose speaks with Joan on a rampart before a burning Notre-Dame: “Joan of Arc? The warrior who stood against the English? But you were taken prisoner and burned at”

Die monster! You don’t belong in this world!

The Dracula fight begins in the Court of the Night in the Master’s Quarters. It continues on the Castle Rooftops against his second, winged form. The achievement pops when that second form is defeated, and the same kill decides which ending you get.

Ending achievements: Belmont’s fall, The hunt goes on and Curse lifted

The three endings depend on two things: whether you have a specific spell equipped, and what you do at one clock.

AchievementEndingTrigger
Belmont’s fallBadUse the Clock Tower Bridge clock without Soul Harvest
The hunt goes onNormalBeat Dracula without Absolution equipped
Curse liftedTrueBeat Dracula with Absolution equipped

Belmont’s fall usually happens the first time you reach the glowing clock on the Clock Tower Bridge. Rose normally gets there before she has Soul Harvest, the spell you get from Death, so the clock springs Death’s trap. The credits roll and the achievement pops. Choose Resume on the title screen to keep playing. If Soul Harvest is equipped, the clock takes you on toward Isaac instead.

The hunt goes on only needs Dracula’s second form beaten without Absolution in your loadout. For Curse lifted, prepare the following in order.

Go to the Gallery of the Four Virtues in Notre-Dame and ring the four Bells of Virtue. Each bell’s window only opens if you have the matching card’s spell equipped. The pairings are listed in the table below.
Bell of VirtueSpell to equip
CourageInfernal Pyre
TemperanceFreezing Path
JusticeChains of Justice
PrudenceMirror Walk
Go back to the altar and defeat your shadow. This also unlocks Shadow Work and gives you The Self, which carries the Absolution spell.
Equip Absolution and travel to the Court of the Night. Keep it equipped through both phases of the Dracula fight.
Defeat Dracula’s winged form on the Castle Rooftops. The true ending plays and Curse lifted unlocks.

The King is dead, long live the King

This achievement advances through the story rather than by killing anything. In Paris Streets, go to the Palace of Justice and balance the Scales of Justice beside the tree. Saint Louis awakens, the achievement unlocks, and he gives you The Judge Arcana. That card contains Chains of Justice, the spell used for the Justice bell. Saint Louis also gives you Valmanway.

Dialog Skipper

Beat Dracula’s second form while the play time on the System tab still shows under 4 hours. Plan this as a separate speedrun, because a full collection run will take much longer.

Weapon achievements: Jack of All Trades, Stuff of Legends and Armed to the Fangs

There are 28 weapons, split evenly across seven families with four weapons each. The families are:

  • Whips
  • One-handed swords
  • Two-handed swords
  • Paired blades
  • Sword and shield
  • Spears
  • Fists

Jack of All Trades needs one weapon from every family; the Steam text reads “Find a weapon of each family in the game”. It unlocks the moment Rose picks up a weapon from the last family she is missing. Fists are an easy family to leave for last: the Cestus sits in a chest in the Sewer Reservoir in Paris Streets, and with the other six families already owned, the achievement pops over its weapon card. If two-handed swords are the gap, the Claymore is in a chest in The Way of the Fist in the Clock Tower.

Picking up the Cestus, the last missing family here (fists), unlocks Jack of All Trades on the spot.

Armed to the Fangs needs all 28. Stuff of Legends pops for any Legendary weapon. Most players get the Vampire Killer whip first, which Trevor Belmont gives Rose in Deacon’s Quarter in Notre-Dame.

War and Famine: the Notre-Dame organ puzzle

War and Famine is a Legendary pair of twin swords with 100 ATK, and you need it for Armed to the Fangs. Solving the organ puzzle also completes a Work of Mercy, which counts toward Pick a card, any card. You can start after defeating Talos, but the final input needs Death defeated first. Each corrupted pipe has a melody sheet, and you can read them in the Tarot menu once found. The sequences are stepped out on the zodiac floor plates in the Great Organ Room.

In Notre-Dame, read the clue about the corrupted organ pipes. Then head down through the floor into the Great Organ Room in the Notre-Dame Undercrypt.
Step on the plates in the order shown for each of the three melodies. Each correct sequence cleanses its pipe.
After beating Death, go to the Stained Glass Gallery and look at the zodiac windows. The number of lit candles under each window gives its position in the sequence. One candle means first, two candles means second, and so on.
In the Great Organ Room, step on Gemini, Scorpio, Aquarius, Virgo, Sagittarius, and finally Aries. A green flash appears, followed by “Work of Mercy completed”.
Go left up the stairs and read the plaque on the wall. The stairs open into a trapdoor.
Drop into the hidden crypt and run right to the altar. Open the container there to get War and Famine.

Collector

Brave Heart Fragments raise health and Wise Heart Fragments raise mana. Four fragments make one upgrade, so you are after 6 health and 6 mana upgrades. Each of the 8 main areas holds exactly 3 Brave and 3 Wise fragments. The Equipment screen shows six heart slots for each bar from the start, so you can count the gaps you still need to fill.

Narcissus

Mirrors of Life serve as save stations and restore your health and potions. Face one and press the interact prompt to activate it. You need to activate all 34. Holy Innocents’ Cemetery contains 4, the Catacombs of Paris has 2, and the Hall of Mirrors holds 5.

The Greatest Detective

Clues come from spirits, hooded statues, notes and paintings. Each one is filed on the clue pages of the Tarot menu under the Arcana it belongs to. In a full run, the last clue is usually “Kneeling is the Way” in the Hall of Mirrors.

Pick a card, any card

There are 16 Arcana cards: The Cursed, which Rose starts with, and 15 that you collect. Each collected card has Works of Mercy, which are small tasks tied to that card. Every finished Work gives one Blessing, and each Blessing unlocks one Gift. The achievement pops when all 42 Gifts across the 15 collected cards are learned. The Cursed does not count toward it, and its second Work only shows as “???”.

You manage cards from the Arcanas tab of the Equipment screen, next to the Armoury and relic slots. This is also where you swap in the spells needed for the virtue bells and the true ending.

The Brittle King, card 13, shows what these tasks look like. Its spell is Stained-Glass Shield, and its three Works of Mercy are:

  • Survive an attack that would have killed you by absorbing it with Arthur’s spell.
  • Kill 25 Haunted Armor.
  • Kill 3 enemies with one attack.

Counter and secret achievements

Transylvanian Express and Lamplighter

Both of these track totals across your whole save. Transylvanian Express counts distance travelled and usually pops around the Sewer Reservoir in Paris Streets, roughly an hour and a half into a normal run.

The Map tab shows the Sewer Reservoir area of Paris Streets, with explored rooms and a marker allowance of 0/50 remaining markers.

Lamplighter counts every candle you break. The game has 1,538 candles, so 666 is a little under half. If you break candles as you go, it tends to pop past the midpoint, around Notre-Dame’s Chapel of Patience. The Catacombs of Paris have 212 candles and Holy Innocents’ Cemetery has 206, while the Hall of Mirrors has only 68.

True Belmont

Leon teaches the Fallen’s Holy Cross spell. Equip any whip, then attack an ordinary enemy with both the whip and Holy Cross and kill it. Since it’s unclear which hit must deliver the final blow, keep using both on the same target until it dies. This works in a regular fight—for example, at Stairway to Hell within the Catacombs of Paris.

Always the same roof

The riddle refers to a hidden ceiling area in the Sanctuary of Solitude in the Master’s Quarters. This is the last room before the Dracula fight, just past the Mirror of Life. Use the grapple points and whip rings to climb onto the alcoves above the doors and up to the upper balconies. From there, wall jumps and the Astral Whip get you into the secret space at the top of the room. The achievement pops when you enter it, and a chest inside holds the Gloomstone relic.

Perfectionist Hunter: what counts toward 100% completion

Perfectionist Hunter reads the Progress percentage shown under your play time on the System tab of the pause menu. About three quarters of that total comes from revealing the map, so visiting every room matters more than any one collectible. These are the pieces that count:

  • Map rooms revealed: 1,306
  • Experience statues: 147
  • Items picked up: 115 (40 relics, 39 clues, 25 weapons, 5 movement skills, 6 key items)
  • Background doors found: 70
  • Brave and Wise Heart Fragments: 24 each
  • ATK UP and DEF UP books: 14 each
  • Area exits: 22, Arcana absorbed: 15, Story steps: 5, Ferryman’s Wharfs: 5, the four virtues: 4

Secret areas by themselves, Mirrors of Life, breakable walls, candles, and enemy kills don’t count. The map’s “0/50 Remaining Markers” line refers only to the map markers you can still place; it doesn’t indicate completion.

Check each area’s completion percentage to spot which one is incomplete. Map reveal accounts for most of each total, so looking for rooms you have not visited there is usually the quickest fix.

Custom Mode and achievements

Custom Mode does not block every achievement. Blood Tells still unlocked against The Fallen with Prevent death on and damage dealt raised. However, the Custom Mode menu warns that some achievements become unobtainable while it is enabled, and it does not say which ones. Turn Custom Mode off before any boss, ending or challenge you still need, especially the Dialog Skipper run, so you don’t have to repeat it.
