Rose’s mana bar in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse grows only one way. You have to find Wise Heart Fragments, which sit on blue-glowing shrines scattered across Paris and Dracula’s Castle. There are 24 of them, three in each of the game’s eight major areas. Every set of four you collect becomes a permanent upgrade.
Quick answer: Collect all 24 Wise Heart Fragments (three per area) to complete six Wise Hearts. Each one adds 20 max mana, and the full set takes Rose to 220 max mana.
How Wise Heart Fragments raise Rose’s mana
Each fragment rests on a shrine that glows blue. Walk up to it and press the interact button (R1 on PlayStation) to pick it up. A pop-up confirms the pickup and tracks your progress toward the next full heart with counters like “1/4 Wise Heart’s Fragments!” When the fourth piece drops in, the game shows Wise Heart Completed! and Rose’s mana cap goes up for good.
| Wise Heart value | Figure |
|---|---|
| Fragments placed in the world | 24 |
| Fragments per upgrade | 4 |
| Total upgrades | 6 |
| Max mana per upgrade | +20 |
| Max mana with all upgrades | 220 |
Fragments carry over between areas, so it doesn’t matter where your four pieces come from. A heart started in Paris Streets can be finished in the cemetery. Brave Heart Fragments work the same way for health. They also come in a set of 24 spread three per area, add 20 max health per completed heart, and top out at 220 max health. Many rooms hold one of each, so it’s worth checking both while you’re in the area.

A handful of shrines sit behind traversal gates. You won’t get every fragment on your first pass through an area. These movement tools come up repeatedly on the routes below:
- Arcane Whip, which lets Rose grapple onto glowing anchors and swing across gaps
- An aerial dash for crossing saw-blade corridors and long gaps
- Mirror travel, which you need for the teleport puzzles in the Main Hall and Hall of Mirrors
- A downward slam that breaks fragile floors
The Arcane Whip comes first. You unlock it in the Abandoned Sewers under Paris Streets after beating The Fallen, the first boss. Absorbing The Fallen gives you its Arcana, which carries the Holy Cross spell and the Arcane Whip ability.

All 24 Wise Heart Fragment locations
The list follows a route that starts in the City of Paris and then moves into Dracula’s Castle. Each area holds exactly three fragments. Room names match what the in-game map shows, from the main district down to the specific room.

Paris Streets (fragments 1–3)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Street of the Tomb Masons / Morgue | Platform up through the buildings |
| 2 | Guard Storehouse | Time your run past giant spike wheels |
| 3 | Torture Level / Prison Tower | Smash a breakable floor and drop onto the shrine |
The first fragment is the easiest to spot. Once you climb into the Morgue, the shrine is in plain view and the interact prompt appears as soon as you stand next to it.

In the Guard Storehouse, the spiked wheels roll overhead and along the corridor. Wait for each one to clear before you move forward, and the shrine sits at the end of the passage.

The third fragment in the Prison Tower is hidden directly beneath a cracked floor. Break through it, and you land right next to the shrine.

Holy Innocents’ Cemetery (fragments 4–6)
Picking up the Cloister fragment completes your first Wise Heart if you’ve followed the route so far. The other two pieces in the cemetery go toward your second heart.

| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | Cloister | Grapple up and move around the roots |
| 5 | Mausoleum of the Kings / Overgrown Crypt | Mirror teleport, then cross the spikes |
| 6 | Roman Baths | Break through ceiling and barrier sections |
Catacombs of Paris (fragments 7–9)
The Catacombs open only after you’ve placed all three keys in the gate in the Abandoned Sewers. All three fragments here lean on movement tools or hidden passages.

| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 7 | Throat of Hell | Grapple across a spike pit to a ledge |
| 8 | Hall of the Fallen Angels / Blood Pits | Dodge saws, break the hidden wall below them |
| 9 | Crossroads of the Dead / Chamber of Whispers | Slide into a hidden room |
In the Throat of Hell, the shrine sits on a ledge across a spike pit. You can’t jump it. Use the Arcane Whip on the hanging grapple point to swing over.

The Hall of the Fallen Angels hides a Whip alongside its Wise Heart Fragment, behind one breakable wall and one secret area.
Main Hall (fragments 10–12)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | Entrance Corridor / Wine Cellar | Mirrors, saw blades and enemy corridors |
| 11 | Grand Hall / Boudoir | Climb through portrait rooms and mirror portals |
| 12 | Servants’ Quarters / Torture Chambers / Balcony | Switch puzzle, then platform out to the balcony |
The Wine Cellar route is the longest single trip on the list, winding through several mirror rooms before the shrine comes into view. The Balcony fragment sits outdoors at the end of a switch sequence that starts back in the Servants’ Quarters.
Library (fragments 13–15)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 13 | Rhetoric Shelves | Grapple and dash through an enemy-filled hall |
| 14 | Planetarium | Jump across the rotating armillary sphere |
| 15 | Fine Arts Shelves | Use air rings to cross the upper shelves |
Notre-Dame (fragments 16–18)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 16 | Chapel of Patience | Clear an enemy encounter, then cross spikes |
| 17 | Great Tower / Tree of Saints | Wall-jump past saws to the shrine by the tree |
| 18 | Apse | Drop into a spike-filled crypt room below |
Clock Tower (fragments 19–21)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 19 | Central Fuel Reservoir | Air dash past saw blades |
| 20 | Mechanic’s Ascent / West Tower Base | Ride the cage elevator, jump to a side ledge |
| 21 | The Way of the Fist / Upper Gallery | Grapple across the exterior to a rooftop |
Hall of Mirrors (fragments 22–24)
| # | Map location | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| 22 | Boudoir of Bewilderment | Solve the mirror puzzle to open a hidden alcove |
| 23 | Familiar Way / Chamber of Secrecy | Wall-slide past saw blades |
| 24 | Ballroom of Terror | Dash past the saw traps |
Grabbing the Ballroom of Terror fragment completes the sixth and final Wise Heart, assuming you’ve cleared the other 23.
Wise Heart Fragments by area: Completion reference
Each area’s completion checklist tracks its Wise Heart Fragments separately, so it cannot count as fully cleared if even one of its three shrines remains untouched. The table also shows the Mirrors of Life in each area; they record progress, restore health, and replenish potions. These checkpoints are useful before routes filled with traps.
| Area | World part | Wise Heart Fragments | Mirrors of Life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris Streets | City of Paris | 3 | 5 |
| Holy Innocents’ Cemetery | City of Paris | 3 | 4 |
| Catacombs of Paris | City of Paris | 3 | 2 |
| Main Hall | Dracula’s Castle | 3 | 9 |
| Library | Dracula’s Castle | 3 | 2 |
| Notre-Dame | Dracula’s Castle | 3 | 3 |
| Clock Tower | Dracula’s Castle | 3 | 3 |
| Hall of Mirrors | Dracula’s Castle | 3 | 5 |
You’ll know the job is done when the “Wise Heart Completed!” message has appeared six times and every area’s checklist shows 3 of 3 Wise Heart Fragments. At that point, Rose’s mana bar sits at its 220 maximum.
