Raven's Feather

Raven’s Feather is one of the relics in Holy Innocents’ Cemetery that you’ll miss if you don’t go looking for it. It sits in a dark, hidden room above a combat arena. The path there runs from the Pauper’s Grave Mirror of Life, down through the Roman ruins under the cemetery, and back up into the graves. It’s a fair amount of platforming, but no part of it is complicated.

Quick answer: Clear the arena fight in Meek Grave, loop through Ossuary of the Innocents back to Meek Grave’s high platforms, then jump into the dark upper-left doorway and open the chest.

What Raven’s Feather does

With Raven’s Feather equipped, every attack Rose lands while airborne does 25% more damage. Grounded attacks get nothing extra. The bonus only applies while the relic is in one of Rose’s three relic slots, so it has to compete with whatever else you’re running.

Its flavor text describes a black feather that swordsmen and nobles both chased after, even though it was seen as a sign of bad luck.

How to get Raven’s Feather in Holy Innocents’ Cemetery

The route below starts at a save point and ends at the chest. It includes a short detour to a Spirit before you head underground. That detour doesn’t touch the relic itself, but it sits right next to your starting point and adds a clue to your log.

Pauper’s Grave and the Spirit detour

Travel to the Mirror of Life in Pauper’s Grave, inside Holy Innocents’ Cemetery. Open the map once you arrive to check where you are. The checkpoint is near the Fountain of the Innocents.

Head right into Mausoleum of the Kings, then drop down into Chapel of the Kings. The chapel locks you into a fight against waves of armored and flying enemies. Clear all of them to continue.

In Pauper’s Grave, continue until you find a dead-end recess containing a purple-glowing Spirit. Speak with it, and the clue “The Roots of the Hollow Tree” will be added to your notes on The Prophetess.

Down through the Roman ruins

From the Mirror of Life, move right through Pauper’s Grave. Drop through the floor beneath the wooden gate into the tunnel below. That tunnel leads into Ruins Entrance, where a few enemies are waiting along the path.

Push on into Roman Aqueduct. To cross the water, whip onto the glowing rings overhead, and time your movement around the spinning saw blades and waterfalls. Falling in the water or touching a blade costs you health, so take your time.

Climb the vertical shafts up into Roman Baths. Clear out the skeleton swordsmen and crawlers along the corridors. Then keep heading toward Meek Grave.

Meek Grave arena and the hidden chest

Walk into Meek Grave and the arena fight begins. There’s a green winged summoner in the air and skeleton archers on the platforms around a big pile of coffins in the middle of the room. The archers have a clear line on you from up high, so take them out early.

When the arena is clear, take the door out into Ossuary of the Innocents. Loop back around from there and come back into Meek Grave on its upper level.
Climb the left side of the room above the coffin pile and jump onto the upper-left ledge. The doorway there is almost invisible in the dark, but it leads into a short hidden passage. Open the metal chest at the end to collect Raven’s Feather.

If Ossuary of the Innocents is already open on your save, you can skip most of the ruins and just drop down into Meek Grave from there.

Confirming you have Raven’s Feather

When you open the chest, a relic screen pops up with the name RAVEN’S FEATHER, the bonus to airborne damage, and the flavor text. After that it shows up in your relic menu. Equip it in one of the three slots to turn the bonus on. Your ATK number on the stat screen stays the same, because the extra damage only kicks in when Rose attacks in the air.

Raven’s Feather is one of several relics that add damage only under a certain condition. The table below compares it with the other conditional damage relics, so you can decide what to put in your three slots.

Raven’s Feather has no drawback. You don’t need to be at low health and you don’t lose any max life. All it asks is that you’re off the ground when you attack, which in this game happens all the time anyway, between double jumps, swinging from rings, and fighting flying enemies.
