The Pinnacle of Technical Skill is the third and final mission in the Pot and Weapons faction quest, tied to the Ironflame Orcs in Crimson Desert. It has no combat, no puzzle, and no timer. The whole mission is a handover, and the only thing that can hold you up is not having the machine it asks for.
Quick answer: Craft the small kuku A.T.A.G., fast travel to Gorthak, and speak to Marek at Grandore Outpost. The conversation itself completes the mission.
What you need before the objective appears
The objective line reads “Show the small kuku A.T.A.G. to Marek”, so the mech has to exist in your inventory first. The A.T.A.G. is introduced during Chapter 10 of the main story, but the blueprint only becomes obtainable in Chapter 11, when the New Designs faction quest unlocks under the Ironflame Orcs tab. Completing New Designs hands you the blueprint for the small kuku A.T.A.G., and the mission before this one, Preparing for New Skills, sits between them.
You craft the machine at the Mysterious Iron Pot Workshop in Hernand. These are the materials it consumes.
| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Kuku Pot | 1 | Crafted at the Mysterious Iron Pot Workshop |
| Abyss Cell | 1 | Abyss enemies |
| Cogwheel | 5 | Dropped by a wide range of enemies |
| Small Battery | 5 | Robotic enemies and pirates in Deleysia |
Keep the finished machine on you. The mission checks for the item during dialogue, so there is nothing to place, activate, or summon at the outpost.

Marek sits in a covered workshop area built into the wooden structure of Grandore Outpost, in Gorthak Territory. The quest marker points straight at him, but the marker tends to read as a flat position on the map while he is actually one level below the upper walkway, which is where most of the confusion comes from.

The dialogue that completes the mission
Marek opens by admitting he is still stuck on the theory behind the machines he keeps producing. His line — “I still haven’t found the perfect answer” — is the first subtitle you will see, and it is a reliable sign you are talking to the right NPC and not one of the outpost’s other workers.

He then explains his method, which is pure trial and error. Dropping weapon materials into the cauldron produces new machines, and while he has learned the process by repetition, the principle behind it still escapes him.

The conversation ends with him handing over the combinations he has written down and telling you to test them yourself. Nothing here branches, so there is no wrong dialogue choice to worry about.

Rewards and how to confirm the quest completed
As soon as the dialogue ends, a Quest Completed banner appears on screen under the Faction Quests category, with the mission name attached. The completion summary notes that Marek took an interest in new crafting possibilities while examining the finished result. The reward pop-up follows immediately.
- Blueprint II: Kuku Disruptor Spear
- Blueprint II: Enhanced Kuku Disruptor
- Blueprint II: A.T.A.G.
The Kuku Disruptor blueprint is the headline item and shows up in the on-screen reward list as the schematic you just earned. Once it is in your possession, the Pot and Weapons quest line shows all three missions cleared, and the new recipes can be taken back to the Mysterious Iron Pot Workshop for crafting. The full-size A.T.A.G. blueprint that Marek hands over is the stronger build of the mech you brought him.
If the objective marker is still active after the conversation, reopen the quest log and check the Faction Quests tab. A completed Pot and Weapons line confirms the mission registered rather than the marker lingering on screen.
With the blueprints banked, the mech track continues outside this faction line. The High Mobility A.T.A.G. requires the Blueprint II reward for it, which comes from cleansing the Sanctum of Exaltation in Pailune after starting the Witch of Kindness quest, and crafting it consumes a small kuku A.T.A.G. of its own. Keeping spare Cogwheels and Small Batteries on hand is worth it if that upgrade is where you are headed.
