Microsoft’s chromium-based Edge browser is now available to download as a preview release for everyone to try. The browser is currently available for Windows 10 only, but the software giant has promised a release for Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, and macOS as well.

To download the Chrome-based Microsoft Edge on your Windows 10 PC, head over to the Microsoft Edge Insider website and choose the build type that you wish to install on your PC. The Microsoft Edge Insider currently has the following channels to beta test chrome-based Edge browser.

  • Dev Channel: These builds updated weekly and are tested by the Microsoft Edge team for stability.
  • Canary Channel: This is where you get the bleeding edge builds of Microsoft Edge. These builds are untested and are updated every day.
  • Beta Channel: Not yet available, but the beta channel will offer the most stable builds of Microsoft Edge Insider. These builds will be updated every six weeks.

Download Microsoft Edge Chrome Based Builds

To install the chrome-based Microsoft Edge, download the setup file from the links above and run it on your Windows 10 (64-bit) machine. It’ll download the full installer from Microsoft’s servers and install it on your PC.

Note: Windows 10 (32-bit) systems aren’t supported yet.
