Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Dried Fur

Build the Drying Rack from the Hunter, then convert Animal Fur and Salt into Dried Fur for leather, armor, and furniture.

Dried Fur is a processed material in Enshrouded that you make yourself rather than loot from enemies. You turn raw Animal Fur into it on the Drying Rack, a station you unlock from the Hunter. Its item text reads: “After drying the Animal Fur on the Drying Rack, it becomes sturdier and more durable for a longer period of time.”

What you need before you start

You need two inputs. Animal Fur drops from Vukah, wolves, and other animals you hunt in the world. Salt comes from skeletons and from the Salt Mine.

Make Dried Fur on the Drying Rack

Visit the Hunter at your base and make a Drying Rack with 10 Wood Logs and 6 String. The Hunter must be under cover for you to build the station.

Place the Drying Rack somewhere in your base. Once it is down, you can interact with it to open its crafting menu.
Open the Drying Rack and select Dried Fur. Each unit takes 1 Animal Fur, 3 Salt and 60 seconds, so queue several at once and let them process.

Finished Dried Fur waits in the Drying Rack’s output until you take it.

What Dried Fur is used for

Dried Fur feeds into one of the game’s most important chains. At the Tanning Station, 10 Dried Fur, 20 Salt, and 2 Ammonia Gland produce 10 Leather. You can also craft a Small Backpack at the Workbench from 4 Dried Fur, 1 Torn Cloth, and 1 String.

Armor that needs Dried Fur

The Hunter’s Scout armor set leans heavily on Dried Fur. Several class armor pieces from the Blacksmith, Alchemist, and Hunter use 1 to 2 each, and the Bard’s Explorer set uses 1 per piece.
