Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Fabric at the Loom

Fabric is a woven material you make at the Loom from Linen. Before you can craft any of it, you need the Loom itself, which you recover during a Hunter quest and carry back to your base. Its description reads: “A sturdy material that was woven out of linen. It revolutionized the clothing industry due to its flexibility and durability. It looks better as well.”

Quick answer: Fabric is woven at the Loom, with 2 Linen making 1 Fabric. Get your first Loom from the Hunter quest “Loom For The Hunter” in East Lapis, then place it in your base.

Get the Loom from the “Loom For The Hunter” quest

During the Hunter’s quest, head to a weaver’s cottage inside East Lapis in the Kindlewastes. The Loom is inside; pick it up and take it back to your home to install.

Find the Hunter quest “Loom For The Hunter” in your journal. Your map shows the weaver’s cottage’s approximate location.

Travel to East Lapis in the Kindlewastes. Look for the cottage decorated with banners.

Go inside the weaver’s cottage and retrieve the Loom.

Bring the Loom home and place it in your base to finish the “Place The Loom” step. Once it is down, you can start weaving.

Weave Fabric from Linen

Load the Loom with Linen: 2 Linen make 1 Fabric. Linen itself is spun from Flax. The Hunter also has a Loom recipe if you want another one. Building it costs 5 Wood Logs, 10 Wood Planks, 5 Fossilized Bone, 1 Bronze Bars, 30 Linen, and 10 Nails.

What Fabric is used for

Fabric is used to make armor padding, bandages, dyed cloth, and other crafted items. The quest text explains that getting the Loom lets you craft padding kits to improve armor. Each Assassin, Warlock, and Deerstalker armor piece requires 1 to 3 Fabric.

The Hunter can make Colored Fabric from 1 Fabric plus a dye. The dye sets the color:

Green — 2 Mint Mushroom Meat
Red — 1 Sulfur
Yellow — 1 Saffron
Orange — 1 Daylily
Violet — 1 Mauveine
