Wool in Enshrouded starts with a Yak. These woolly animals roam the Albaneve Summits, and once you tame one and settle it at your base, it produces Raw Wool you can refine. The game describes Wool as “Refined wool. It can be used for weaving garments and warm padding.” Turning it into usable cloth means taming the animal, housing it properly, and running the Raw Wool through a Spinning Machine.
Quick answer: Use Yak Food Bait to tame a Yak in the Albaneve Summits and take it home to your base. Gather its Raw Wool, then use the Spinning Machine to turn 16 Raw Wool into 12 Wool.
Craft Yak Food Bait at the Farmer
Before you can tame anything, you need bait. The Yak Food Bait recipe is at the Farmer: 1 Yucca Fruit, 1 Flat Bread, 1 Corncob, 1 Dried Purple Berry, and 1 Honey, which together make 10 baits.

The Farmer also gives the quest “Gathering Wool In The Albaneve Summits”, which asks for at least 3 Yak baits and marks a spot on your map where Yaks can be found. You can tame a Yak anywhere you find one, so that marker is a convenience rather than a requirement.

The game describes the animal this way: “This woolly fellow grows a thick coat to weather the harsh climate of Albaneve Summits. It can be shaved for wool.” Taming follows the bait’s own instructions.
Set up the Yak at your base
Place the Yak at your base and give it what it needs to stay fed and rested. Each of these is crafted at the Farmer.
- Yak Feeder — 7 Wood Logs, 3 Nails. Fill it with Yak Food.
- Yak Food — 1 Yucca Fruit, 3 Corncob, 1 Dried Purple Berry, which make 50.
- Big Farm Animal Pillow — 8 Twigs, 5 Straw, 2 Palm Wood Logs, for the Yak to sleep on.
Tamed Yaks give Raw Wool: use “Collect all resources to pick up” at your Yaks to gather it.

Refine Raw Wool into Wool at the Spinning Machine
Raw Wool is not the finished material. To turn it into Wool, you need a Spinning Machine, crafted at the Hunter from 3 Conifer Logs, 5 Metal Scraps, 1 Linen, and 1 Spinning Wheel. Building it is tied to the Hunter quest “A Spinning Machine For The Hunter”. Place it in your base and load it with Raw Wool: 16 Raw Wool make 12 Wool.

What Wool is used for
You can use Wool for warm equipment, a Flame Altar upgrade, and assorted furniture and decorations. Next, the Hunter quest asks you to “Make Warm Padding Kits”, describing them as essential for crafting warmer gear.
