Where to harvest ripe wheat in the Nomad Highlands and how to grind it into Flour at the Grinding Stones.

Flour comes from Wheat Grains, and Wheat Grains come from ripe wheat plants growing at farms in the Nomad Highlands. Once you have a few grains in hand, you can set up a steady supply at your base and feed them into the Grinding Stones to make Flour for bread and other dishes.

Quick answer: At Bounty Barn in the Nomad Highlands, gather Wheat Grains from ripe wheat, then process them with the Grinding Stones. A 5-minute batch turns 3 Wheat Grains into 3 Flour.

Get Wheat Grains in the Nomad Highlands

On farms in the Nomad Highlands, wait for wheat to ripen before harvesting it for Wheat Grains. Harvesting one ripe plant provides 1 Wheat Grains plus 2 Straw. Its description reads: “Both a cooking ingredient and a seed for the fields.”

Make your way to Bounty Barn in the Nomad Highlands. Mark it on the interactive map before you set off.
Gather the mature wheat in the field next to the barn; each plant yields 1 Wheat Grains and 2 Straw. Leave immature wheat alone, since it provides nothing while growing, and return to it later.

To build up your grain supply, visit the wheat plot by Fanning Ranch in the Nomad Highlands as well.

Grow your own wheat with a Seedbed

To avoid repeated trips to the fields, convert some grains into seedlings and grow them at your base. In 3 minutes, the Seedbed uses 1 Wheat Grains and 1 Fossilized Bone Dust to produce 5 Wheat Seedlings. Plant the seedlings to raise wheat and maintain a steady cycle.

Build the Grinding Stones at the Alchemist

Craft the Grinding Stones, a production station, through the Alchemist’s menu. Making them requires 10 Flintstone and 15 Stone; access to the recipe follows after you have the Alchemist and collected Stone.

Set the Grinding Stones in a sheltered area of your base.

Grind Wheat Grains into Flour

Once the station is placed and you have grains in your inventory, you can produce Flour. Its item description reads: “Flour that can be created by grinding Wheat Grains to dust.”

At the Grinding Stones, select Flour from the recipe list. Picking up Wheat Grains is what makes this recipe available.
Load in the grains. Each batch turns 3 Wheat Grains into 3 Flour over 5 minutes.
