Rain walking across the green Dirnado field towards the scaffolding of Dilmagia

The Vision prompts in the Sanctums of Light accept any response, but Aileen requires the correct choices. In Forger of Wills, the rebels’ weaponsmith puts Rain through three questions, each with one correct answer.

Quick answer: The right answers are “It’s a tool of harm”, “A way to rebel against troubling times” and “Craft weapons that suit each of us well”. A wrong answer ends the talk with no penalty, so talk to Aileen again and retry as often as you like. Getting all three right finishes Forger of Wills and gives you the Aileen Vision and a Magicite.

When Forger of Wills opens

Forger of Wills becomes available in Chapter 5. It is one of the game’s side quests, so you track it from the Sub Quests tab. You don’t need any Adamantite to answer Aileen’s questions. That material only comes into play later, when she starts forging weapons.

How to start Forger of Wills

In Dilmagia, the Machinopolis, a townsperson stops Rain and Jake with “You two there, have you heard the news? She’s back!” Your quest objective now reads “Search for the woman who led the rebellion in Dilmagia”.
Go to the Shipyard in Dilmagia and speak to Aileen. She will craft weapons only when “I’m happy with the answers”, then cautions Jake, “I won’t be asking him the same questions I asked you, Jake.” Your objective becomes “Gather information on Aileen (0/3)”.
Learn about Aileen in three places. You can visit them in any order, and the counter ticks from 1/3 to 3/3 under the objective “Gather information on Aileen in each region”.
  • Dilmagia: An army veteran recounts how one of Aileen’s weapons once wounded an ally, explaining why she “won’t make weapons that can kill indiscriminately”.
  • The Rebel Hideout in Zoldaad: You learn that she personally checks each fighter’s weapon and meets with every one of them individually.
  • The Village of Kol: a single parent in the desert describes the crossbow she made, and says “the whole reason she made that weapon was to hear those words”.
Once the counter is full, Rain says “Let’s go see her, then. She should still be in Dilmagia.” Go back to the Shipyard, where the objective reads “Find Aileen at the shipyard in Dilmagia and answer her questions”.

Aileen’s questions and answers

The options below are listed in the order they appear on screen. Only one per question moves the conversation forward.

Question 1: What is a weapon?

OptionRight or wrongAileen’s reply
“It’s a symbol of strength”Wrong“That’s one way of looking at it. But I don’t think that’s the essence of what a weapon is.” then “Sorry, but if that’s the answer, I won’t be able to make any weapons for you.”
“It’s a tool for protection”WrongSame two lines as above
“It’s a tool of harm”Right“Mm… Good answer.” She moves on with, “To the next question, then.”

Question 2: What is a fight?

OptionRight or wrongAileen’s reply
“A way to carry out justice”Wrong“Okay… That’s important, no doubt about it. However, that’s not what I’m focused on.” then “Sorry, but if that’s the answer, I won’t be able to make any weapons for you.”
“A way to rebel against troubling times”Right“I agree.” then “To refuse to live at the mercy of turbulent forces—that is what fighting means to me.”
“A way to defeat evil”WrongSame two lines as the first wrong answer

Question 3: What is it you wish from me?

Aileen opens with “And the final question: What is it you wish from me?” Every option finishes the sentence “I wish for you to…”

OptionRight or wrongAileen’s reply
“Craft weapons that will help win our fights”Wrong“Unfortunately, those aren’t weapons I can make for you. I suggest you look elsewhere.”
“Craft weapons that will never take the lives of others”WrongSame line as above
“Craft weapons that suit each of us well”Right“…I see.” then, after her answer, “I’ll make you your weapons and they’ll suit you all perfectly, right to a tee.”

What happens if you answer wrong

A wrong pick ends the conversation on the spot, and that’s it. You lose nothing and take no penalty. Speak to Aileen again and she restarts from the first question with the same three questions and the same options, which means a miss on question 2 or 3 sends you back to question 1. You can retry as many times as you need. That also keeps Forger of Wills off the list of missables.

Forger of Wills rewards

Answering the third question correctly completes Forger of Wills. The rewards are the Aileen Vision and Magicite x1. Aileen joins your Visions list as a Breaker Vision. Her Resonance, Fatal Impact, reads “Deal Earth physical damage to an enemy.” She starts with Blizzard Surge, Stone Surge, Protect, Shell, Libra and Stagger Power +30%.

Aileen’s weapons (Chapter 6)

After Forger of Wills, Aileen comes aboard the airship. From Chapter 6, talk to her on the deck. She first says “To make you suitable weapons, I’ll first need to see how you fight.” and follows with “I can make some nice weapons for you, but I’ll need some adamantite.”

Bring Adamantite and she responds, “That’s adamantite if I ever saw it! Excellent! Well, who should I make a weapon for?” Choose a character and confirm. Each weapon costs 1 Adamantite, and each character gets one weapon, eight in total, so the full set takes 8 Adamantite. If you’re short, check where to get Adamantite.

A character drops off the list once they have their weapon. After all eight, Aileen says “I think that’s everything I can make you…” The answers you gave to her questions have no effect on the weapons. What you get depends only on which character you pick.

These weapons aren’t necessarily the best pick for every slot. The Chamber of Arms also upgrades each character’s Ancient weapon to a “+” version; Rain’s, for instance, becomes Ragnarok+.

Aileen’s forge is linked to two achievements. The first weapon she crafts for you unlocks “The Weapon that Suits the User”; after she has made weapons for every party member, you unlock “The Weaponsmith”.
