Final Fantasy Resonance has 26 Visions. Seventeen are heroes and villains from earlier Final Fantasy games, and nine come from Resonance’s own world.

Quick answer: Visions come from Vision Crystals in sanctums across the world. Your first two, Tronn and Leah, are in the basement under Rain’s house in the Town of Mitra in Chapter 1.

The nine Visions native to Resonance’s world are listed with “Final Fantasy Resonance” as their game.

Every numbered Final Fantasy title, from Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy XVI, has at least one Vision. Only Final Fantasy VII has two: Cloud and Sephiroth. Cecil’s Vision stands for Final Fantasy IV, while Terra Branford stands for Final Fantasy VI. Charlotte, another Grandshelt character, joins Rain as a guest fighter at Grandshelt Castle.

How you get Visions: Sanctums and Vision Crystals

In the first Vision chamber, a voice explains that the power of the Crystals captures the thoughts of warriors from distant worlds and turns them into “visions”. The on-screen line that follows sets the rule: “In sanctums scattered across the world, Vision Crystals lie in wait to be awakened.”

At its community Q&A on 21 October 2026, Square Enix confirmed that finding every Vision requires world exploration and side content.

To check your collection, open the Equipment & Abilities screen. Under EQUIPPABLE Vision, Tronn and Leah appear first; any undiscovered Vision is represented by a locked slot labeled “???”.

Sanctums start showing up on your map after the throne-room events covered in the Grandshelt Castle walkthrough. Lasswell says the Visions are apparently enshrined in sanctums. Charlotte then marks the sanctums she knows of from geological surveys, and three new sanctum icons appear on the western continent of your world map.

The Sanctums tab of the Fast Travel list stays empty at this point, because you have not visited a sanctum yet.

Tronn and Leah: Your first Visions in Rain’s house

Your first two Visions come before you ever see a sanctum, during Chapter 1, “Tailing the Truth”.

Clear the Earth Shrine and return to the Town of Mitra. The Earth Shrine walkthrough covers that stretch.
Follow the objective “Investigate Rain’s house”. It leads you through a locked door inside the house.
Head down to the chamber below. A white Vision Crystal and a purple Vision Crystal wait there.

Each Vision gets an introduction card. One reads “Black Mage Tronn: A mage who commands black magic, unleashing devastatingly destructive power.” The other reads “White Mage Leah: A mage who commands white magic, providing healing and succor.”

Look for the popup “You obtained visions!” to confirm the find; it lists Tronn x1 and Leah x1. Tronn fills the Breaker role, while Leah is a Medic. For the complete steps to equip them, see the guide on how to equip Visions.

What an equipped Vision does

A character can carry one Vision, assigned through the VISIONS slot on the Equipment & Abilities screen. Its ghostly figure appears beside its wielder in battle and grants that character its skills. For instance, giving Leah to Lasswell adds her Skills, Libra included, to his battle menu.

  • Fighting with a Vision earns MRP.
  • MRP raises that Vision’s Mastery Rank and unlocks Mastery bonuses.
  • A Vision’s Awakening Level is raised separately from Mastery Rank.
