Espers in Final Fantasy Resonance are summoned allies who join your party for a short stretch of a fight and bring their own skill. Each one fills a different role. Some deal elemental damage to every enemy, and others protect your party or disable enemies.
Quick answer: There are nine Espers. Every summon costs 50 MP, and the Esper “Stays in battle for 3 turns.” Each has one Esper skill, from Shiva’s Diamond Dust to Carbuncle’s Ruby Light.

Your first summon happens in the prologue. A forced turn has you use Summon Esper with Bahamut for 50 MP, and the command reads “Summon Bahamut, lord of the heavens. Stays in battle for 3 turns.”

The Summoning Espers tutorial then explains the system in one line: “Summon espers to fight alongside party members for a fixed number of turns.” In battle, you use three commands:

- Summon Esper (“Summon an esper.”) calls an Esper into the fight.
- Esper Skills uses the summoned Esper’s skill.
- Dismiss Esper (“Dismiss summoned espers.”) sends the Esper away.
Limit Bursts are a separate battle mechanic. For those, read up on how stagger works.
Esper skills by element
Most Esper skills hit every enemy with one element. Pick the Esper that matches what the enemy is weak to.
For Fire, use Ifrit’s Hellfire. For Ice, use Shiva’s Diamond Dust.

Ramuh’s Judgment Bolt supplies Lightning, Titan’s Gaia’s Wrath supplies Earth, and Leviathan’s Tsunami provides Water. Bahamut’s Megaflare deals magical damage without an element. Odin’s Zantetsuken is the sole physical option; it hits every enemy and may cause Instant Death.

Two Espers help your party without dealing damage. Carbuncle’s Ruby Light gives Reflect to every ally. Siren’s Lunatic Voice may put all enemies to Sleep and Silence. Both effects fall under buffs and debuffs.

How to get Espers
The Esper Titan lies behind the Sealing Stone in the Kingdom of Grandshelt. Siren is stationed atop Siren’s Tower, which you reach at the close of Chapter 1.
In Chapter 2, you can obtain Ramuh by taking part in an optional side event. He is found along a concealed route on Mt. Thunderclap, near the Dwarven Forge. Before battling you, he quizzes you about the mountain’s lightning. The guide covering Ramuh’s question explains the answer and the encounter’s steps.
Your Esper collection is represented by two achievements: “Esper’s Covenant” requires “Gain help from 3 espers.”, while “The Sovereigns of the Planet” requires “Gain help from all espers.”
