Reach the Outer Deep, finish Sledge's first two quests, and claim a Harpoon Gun with a 25,000 kg limit.

Reach the Outer Deep, finish Sledge’s first two quests, and claim a Harpoon Gun with a 25,000 kg limit.

The Scrap-Cannon is a Harpoon Gun in Fisch that you unlock by working through Sledge’s questline inside the Outer Deep. It arrived with The Deep update on August 8, 2026, and rewards you for gathering deep-sea crafting materials and reeling up broken gear. Below is exactly what you need to collect, where to fish, and how to confirm the weapon is yours.

Quick answer: Reach The Deep with a Deep Survey Device, find Sledge near the 1P-4 beacon in the Outer Deep, complete his first quest (materials plus installing the Reinforced Housing), then finish his second quest (catch a Broken Flashlight and Bent Harpoons). You receive the Scrap-Cannon when the second quest closes.

Scrap-Cannon stats and ability

The Scrap-Cannon is a Stage Harpoon Gun assembled from salvaged junk, firing heavy metal chunks that shred a target’s stamina. It carries one of the highest weight limits you can reach at this point and layers several passive effects on top of its raw stats.

LocationOuter Deep
SourceSledge
Power17
Range64 studs
Reload5s
Velocity10/ps
Resilience30%
Accuracy20%
Max Kg25,000 kg

Its passive kit gives a 30% chance to apply the Rusty mutation, which multiplies a fish’s value by 0.7x. It also grants +30% progress at the start of the reeling minigame, carries a -10% progress speed passive, and triples your chance for Rare Finds. The Scrap-Cannon was released in Version 1.96.0.

Reach The Deep and find Sledge

Travel to the northernmost side of the map and locate the boat sitting above the coordinates -194, 130, -4669. Talk to the NPC on that boat to obtain a Deep Survey Device, which you need before you can explore the underground area.
With the Deep Survey Device equipped, swim beneath the boat to descend into The Deep. This opens the underground network that contains the Outer Deep and the deeper layers where you will fish for quest items.
Head to the 1P-4 beacon in the Outer Deep, near the Blind Oracle, where Sledge is stationed inside a sunken ship. Interact with him to begin the questline that ends with the Scrap-Cannon.

Sledge’s first quest: restoring 1P-4

The opening quest is a collection task. You fish inside The Deep to gather every material, then install a component at the beacon. All required items are pulled from the water in this area.

ObjectiveAmount
Chitin Plate25
Salvaged Scrap20
Refined Scrap Scale1
Hardened Chitin1
Install Reinforced Housing at Sector 1P-41

Once you have handed over all four materials, Sledge gives you the Reinforced Housing. Carry it to the 1P-4 beacon and interact with the beacon to install it. That action closes the first quest and unlocks the second stage.

Sledge’s second quest: scrap extraction

The second quest asks you to fish up broken equipment. Both items respond well to Magnet bait, which improves your odds of hooking loot and scrap over regular fish.

  • Catch 1 Broken Flashlight by fishing in the Outer Deep.
  • Catch 2 Bent Harpoons by fishing in the Deep or Lower Deep.

Return the pulled items to Sledge to finish the quest. Completing this second stage is the moment the Scrap-Cannon is added to your inventory.

Confirm you unlocked the Scrap-Cannon

You know the unlock worked when Sledge’s second quest clears from your tracker and the Scrap-Cannon appears in your equipment. If it does not register, check that you actually installed the Reinforced Housing at the 1P-4 beacon during the first quest, since the second stage only opens after that step is complete. Equipping Magnet bait makes the Broken Flashlight and Bent Harpoon far easier to catch if those objectives are stalling.

Sledge’s questline continues past this point toward the Titanium Shaft, so you can keep progressing after the Scrap-Cannon lands. For now, the high weight limit and the Rusty mutation passive make it a solid pull for deep-sea sessions.
