Fisch: How to Spawn Cursed Isle (Great Dreamer Rod)

The exact season, time, and weather conditions that force the island to surface between Moosewood and Ancient Isles.

The exact season, time, and weather conditions that force the island to surface between Moosewood and Ancient Isles.

Cursed Isle is a hidden location in Fisch that only surfaces when three conditions line up at once. Sit at the coordinates 1860, 135, 1210, it stays wrapped in fog until the game’s season, time of day, and weather all match. When they do, the island rises near the water between Moosewood and Ancient Isles, and you have a limited window to reach it before it vanishes again.

Quick answer: Play during Autumn or Spring, make it night, and trigger foggy weather. Use a Sundial Totem to force night, then a Smoke Screen Totem (or a fog totem) to create the fog, and Cursed Isle appears between Moosewood and Ancient Isles.

Spawn requirements for Cursed Isle

All three conditions must be active at the same moment. If any one of them changes, the island sinks back into the fog.

Force Cursed Isle to spawn with totems

Waiting for night and fog to occur naturally can take a long time, and other players on a public server may reset the weather before the island stabilizes. Two totems let you set the conditions yourself during Autumn or Spring.

Confirm the game is in Autumn or Spring. The totems handle time and weather, but they cannot override the season, so the island will not spawn during Summer or Winter no matter what you do.
Use a Sundial Totem to switch the time to night. This satisfies the time-of-day requirement instantly instead of waiting for the day cycle.

Use a Smoke Screen Totem to create fog. A fog totem works for the same effect. With night and fog both active in the correct season, the island should emerge.
Head toward the water between Moosewood and Ancient Isles and watch for the dark landmass to appear. Take a jet ski or fast boat so you reach the shore before the conditions expire.

Tip: Many players run this on a smaller or private server so nobody else changes the weather or time and knocks the island back under before they arrive.

How to confirm it spawned

When the conditions align, a system message appears at the top of the screen that reads “The Cursed Isle has emerged from the fog!” The sky also shifts to a dark, reddish tone. Drive onto the shore, and you will see a “[Newly discovered location!]” notification along with the label Cursed Isle and a +600 XP reward the first time you land there.

The island itself is a dark, foggy landmass with purple-hued trees, large rocks, and a wooden cabin, sitting close to where Ancient Isle is marked on the map.

Why Cursed Isle fails to appear

If the island never surfaces, one of the required conditions is almost always the reason.

  • The season is Summer or Winter. Cursed Isle only spawns in Autumn or Spring.
  • It is daytime. The island disappears once day starts, so you need night active.
  • The weather is clear. Fog must be present, whether natural or forced with a totem.
  • Another player changed the time or weather on a public server before you reached the shore.

What Cursed Isle is used for

The main draw of Cursed Isle is the Great Dreamer Rod, which is obtained here. Catches made with it have a 50% chance to grant the Cursed Touch mutation along with a 5x value multiplier. Cursed Touch is also one of the mutations required to catch and complete the Cathulid and Cathulith quest, so the island matters beyond the rod itself. Because the location only opens in Autumn or Spring under night and fog, plan to grind it during the windows when those conditions can be met.
