Nagomi is the most forgiving of the seven Ancient Idols on Skycrest, which makes its trial set the default pick for anyone chasing a Charm or trying to unlock Ryusei’s limited rod wish. Four of the five tasks are effectively free time, and only the last one asks anything of your gear.
Quick answer: Clear all five Nagomi trials — stand still for 60 seconds, interact with a companion 10 times, directly catch 20 Common to Rare fish, pull 100 fish from Crab Cages, and land one Grandpa Horseshoe Crab in the Desolate Deep with a Golden Crab Cage and Golden Shrimp Bait — then return to the idol to claim the Relaxation Charm.
What the Nagomi Idol trials reward
Finishing the set unlocks the Relaxation Charm and pushes your Idol Favor level up. At Lv. 1 the Charm reads Resilience: +4% / +2%, and it levels further as you catch fish in Skycrest while it is equipped. Charms slot into the Crest Amulet, which holds up to nine of them once your Idol Favor is high enough.
The same five trials also satisfy Ryusei at the Sanctuary. He asks for five trials from any single Ancient Idol before he will let you wish for a vaulted limited rod, and Nagomi’s list is the cheapest way to meet that bar.

Skycrest sits above the Fischfest island. Head to Moosewood and use the large pink clam teleporter next to the leaderboard at (350, 135, 250), or take your Magic Conch if you have half the Fischfest bestiary filled. From the festival island, grab a boat from the Shipwright and look for the vertical waterfall at roughly (-25700, 2591, -4712), then swim up it to surface on the floating island.
The Nagomi Idol stands at (-26193, 3083, -4550). Interact with it once to register the trial list, and the five tasks appear on screen with live progress counters. Ryusei, the wish NPC, is nearby on the left side of the island at (-26331, 3150, -4459).

All five Nagomi trials and the fastest way to clear them
Trials one through three take a few minutes between them. Trial four is passive but slow, and trial five is the only real filter, so start the crab cages running before you bother with the easy tasks.
| Trial | Requirement | Fastest approach |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Stand Still for 60 Seconds Straight | Do not move your character or your camera for a full minute. |
| 2 | Interact with a Companion 10 Times | Summon any pet from your satchel and press E ten times; the same pet counts every time. |
| 3 | Directly Catch 20 Common, Uncommon, Unusual, or Rare Fish | Any mid-tier rod works. Rapid Catcher Bait speeds up the count. |
| 4 | Directly Catch 100 fish with Crab Cages | Buy 100 cages, deploy them together, and collect after roughly 10 minutes. |
| 5 | Catch 1 Grandpa Horseshoe Crab with Crab Cages | Golden Crab Cage plus Golden Shrimp Bait in the Desolate Deep. |
Note: trial three requires direct catches. Fish pulled out of cages count toward trial four, not trial three, so you cannot clear both with the same haul.
Trial 4: Catching 100 fish with Crab Cages
Trial 5: Catching the Grandpa Horseshoe Crab in the Desolate Deep
The Grandpa Horseshoe Crab is a Secret rarity creature, and it only appears in cages placed in the Desolate Deep. Pull up its bestiary entry before you travel so you can check the conditions against the current server state.

The entry lists the exact spawn preferences, including the bait the crab favors and the season it shows up in.
| Condition | Value |
|---|---|
| Location | Desolate Deep |
| Rarity | Secret |
| Preferred Weather | Clear, Rain |
| Preferred Cycle | Any |
| Preferred Season | Spring |
| Preferred Bait | Golden Shrimp Bait |

How to confirm the Nagomi trials are complete
Progress ticks on the trial list as you go, but the reward only lands when you go back to the idol. On the return trip you get an Idol Favor Up! notification with your new Idol Favor level, followed by a Charm Unlocked: Relaxation message.
Open the Crest Amulet afterward and equip the Relaxation Charm. Once it is slotted, the Charm starts collecting XP from fish caught in Skycrest, and its Resilience bonus scales with each level.

Why a Nagomi trial won’t complete
- The 60-second trial counts camera movement as movement, so nudging the mouse restarts it.
- Trial three needs direct rod catches; cage hauls do not register for it.
- Cages placed outside the Desolate Deep will never produce a Grandpa Horseshoe Crab, no matter the bait.
- Low-tier cages and generic bait drastically cut the odds of a Secret rarity pull.
- The rewards do not fire until you interact with the Nagomi Idol again after the fifth trial ticks over.
With the Relaxation Charm in hand, Ryusei will let you pick a vaulted rod from the list of limited-time rods you do not already own. Wishing does not hand the rod over directly — it opens the quest attached to that rod — so treat the Nagomi trials as the entry fee rather than the finish line.
