Skycrest is the floating island added to Fisch on September 5, 2026, built as a Fischfest expansion. It carries its own progression track, seven stone idols with their own trials, a legendary beast hunt, a tameable companion, and a batch of limited content that disappears when Fischfest ends. Almost every lock on the island opens the same way, through a level called Idol Favor.
Quick answer: Teleport to Fischfest, spawn a boat, drive to the giant waterfall, then glide or use a tidebreaker to climb to the top. Speak to the keeper NPC on arrival to receive the Crest Amulet, then grind Idol Favor before touching Sky Crystals, the Abaia Hunt, or Idol Taiga.

Add to Google Preferences →Redeem the Skycrest code first
Open the in-game menu, find the code box, and enter SkycrestIsInTheSky. A successful entry shows a redemption confirmation on screen; if nothing appears, the code was mistyped or has already been used on that account. The code is tied to the update’s launch window, so treat it as time-limited rather than permanent.

Idol Favor is the gate on everything else
Idol Favor is a separate leveling track that only applies to Skycrest. Your Favor level controls how many Charm slots the Crest Amulet unlocks, whether you can safely place Sky Crystals, and whether you can tame the new companion. The amulet tops out at nine Charms equipped at once.
An elder NPC on the island raises your Idol Level using accumulated XP, and a higher level increases the stat boosts the idol quests hand out. The fastest sustained source of Favor comes from Master Hiroto, who runs timed angler challenges that scale to your current level and pay out large Favor rewards when cleared. Idol Taiga, once tamed, also trickles in extra Favor passively.
Note: if you pick up a Sky Crystal and the game refuses to let you place it, that is the Favor requirement, not a bug. Go earn levels and come back.
Seven Ancient Idols and how Charms level up
Seven stone-carved idols sit around Skycrest, each with its own multi-stage trial. Interacting with a statue starts the chain, and finishing all five stages of an idol’s quest awards a permanent buff plus that idol’s dedicated Charm. The idols are Hayate, Ebisu, Fudo, Nagomi, Goriki, Shunsoku, and Amanojaku.
Charms are not static. You level them by catching fish inside Skycrest, and their bonuses scale as they climb. The stats they touch are Luck, Control, Resilience, Max Weight, Lure Speed, and Progress Speed.
Two Charms sit behind harder work. The extreme idol trials only run during the Tropical Squall and Raging Squall weather events, and clearing them unlocks the Titanic Charm and the Flash Charm.
Sky Crystals and the Keeper of the Sky questline
The Keeper of the Sky asks for ten Sky Crystals scattered across the older parts of the map, including Moosewood, Terrapin Island, Roslit Bay, and Snowcap Island. Each crystal you return advances the questline toward restoring Abaia’s Chamber and opening the first gate.
Because placement is Favor-gated, this questline cannot be rushed in one sitting. The practical approach is to hunt crystals while running Hiroto’s challenges and idol trials, so your Favor level keeps pace with the crystals you are carrying.
Fire of Spirits and summoning the Abaia Hunt
The Fire of Spirits only accepts offerings during a Tropical Squall. Sacrifice caught fish into the flame and it grows, which raises Luck and weather spawn rates in the surrounding area for everyone nearby, not just you.
Feed it enough and the Abaia Hunt triggers. The legendary Abaia has to be chased through the subterranean outer ponds beneath the island first, stripping its barrier away, before the chamber becomes accessible. Inside, it is a straight fight where the main thing to respect is its biting attack, so keep moving rather than standing still to trade damage.

Fireflies and taming Idol Taiga
Four firefly variants roam Skycrest at night and nowhere else. They double as high-tier bait, and they are the requirement for taming the Idol Taiga companion. Collect them, then use them during a Tropical Squall once your Idol Favor is high enough.
| Firefly variant | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Firefly | Night, roaming across the island |
| Loopy Five | Night, roaming across the island |
| Blue Ghost | Night, roaming across the island |
| Gombak Bent-Winged | Night, roaming across the island |
The quest log tracks each variant separately with its own counter, so you can see exactly which ones are still missing before you attempt the tame. Once Idol Taiga is yours, it boosts Charm effects, auto-sacrifices low-rarity catches into the Fire of Spirits, generates extra Idol Favor, and spears fish on its own.
Sanctuary wishes: How to unlock a rod wish
The wish NPC sits at the highest point of Skycrest, near the blue crystals, and Ryusei at the Sanctuary holds a limited-time opportunity tied to Fischfest winding down. Wishes are not free to claim on arrival. You have to clear a run of trials first, starting with a short standing-still task from a nearby NPC, then five objectives spread across the wider map.
| Trial | Requirement |
|---|---|
| 1 | Obtain a Rose Veiled Fairy or a Vamp Fairy |
| 2 | Catch a Sailfish while the weather is Windy |
| 3 | Catch a Gustier Breeze African Butterfly |
| 4 | Hold maximum Hang Glider velocity for 5 seconds |
| 5 | Catch a Wyvern in under 20 seconds |
Trial four specifically needs the Hang Glider, not the standard Glider, and the top of Gracial Glott gives enough drop to reach top speed. With all five done, the wish NPC offers a menu of eligible rods rather than a random pull. The list narrows based on what you already own, and some entries carry additional waiting requirements, so read the whole menu before confirming.
Elder Kaito’s Shop and weekly stock
Elder Kaito sells rare utility items and materials, and his stock rotates weekly. A manual refresh is also available for 350,000 C$ if the current lineup is not worth buying. A representative rotation looked like this:
| Item | Price | Stock |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Firefly | 50,000 C$ | x1 |
| Artisan Red | 80,000 C$ | x1 |
| Artisan Spear | 30,000 C$ | x1 |
| Aurora Totem | 150,000 C$ | x1 |
| Exalted Relic | 50,000 C$ | x2 |

Exact items and quantities change with each refresh, so check back rather than assuming the shop is finished after one visit.
New gear added with Skycrest
| Type | What was added |
|---|---|
| Fishing rods | Five new rods |
| Weapons | Harpoon Gun and Spear |
| Relics | Crested Relic and Empyrean Relic |
| Accessory | Crest Amulet, up to nine Charm slots |
Skycrest bestiary fish
The bestiary gained a Skycrest section plus a limited section that only exists while Fischfest is running. If you care about completion, the limited entries are the ones to chase first, since the permanent species stay available afterwards.
| Species | Species |
|---|---|
| Banana Fish | Cabana Cap |
| Mesozoic Glass Shark | Pineapple Pufferfish |
| Pink Spotted Stingray | Ribbonfish |
| Hibiscus Fairy Wrasse | Blue Velvet Fairy Wrasse |
| Smoothback Stingray | Spotted Stingray |
| Crested Vela |
Side quests and Fruit Lover Frank’s limited quest
More than 20 side quests come from locals scattered around the island, and some pay out rewards that are not obtainable any other way. They are worth picking up as you pass NPCs rather than saving for a dedicated run, since most overlap with fishing you would do anyway for Charm levels.
Fruit Lover Frank is the one with a hard deadline. His quest is available for a single week and asks you to bring him fruit, with a strong fishing rod hinted as the payoff. No official end date has been confirmed for Fischfest itself, so the safe assumption is that Frank, the limited bestiary section, and Ryusei’s Sanctuary offer all expire together with the event.
If you are starting from zero, the efficient order is to land on Skycrest, take the Crest Amulet, redeem the code, then push Idol Favor through Hiroto’s challenges and idol trials while collecting Sky Crystals in the background. Everything expensive on the island, including Abaia and Idol Taiga, unlocks off that one number.
