Epic Games has put exactly nine Birthday quests in the game, and every free cosmetic tied to the anniversary comes out of that list. Finish enough of them before the event ends and the items land in your Locker permanently.

How to clear the slowest Birthday quests
Six of the nine quests finish on their own during normal play. The four below are the ones that decide how many matches you actually need, so it is worth setting up for them deliberately.
Wish the Bus Driver a happy birthday (0/9)
This is the longest quest on the board because it only counts once per match, which means nine separate matches. Do it while you are still inside the Battle Bus and before you jump. On keyboard the default key is B, on controller it is down on the D-pad, and on mobile it is the dedicated emote button on the HUD.
Trigger it the moment the bus starts moving. If you jump first, that match is wasted for this quest and you cannot go back.
Search containers (0/7)
Chests and ammo boxes both count toward the total, and the progress carries across matches. Landing at a dense facility such as Reality’s Reign gets you most of the way there in a single drop, since the interiors hold enough containers to clear the count before the first storm circle closes.
Visit 8 different Named Locations in a single match
This one does not carry over between matches, so plan a route before you jump. Pick a bus path that crosses the middle of the island, land at the first Named Location, then grab a vehicle and drive the rest. Spots like Golden Grove, Green Hill Zone and Pixel Polys chain together quickly, and gliding between closely spaced locations saves time early.
Eat 4 slices of Birthday Cake and throw 3 Birthday Presents
Large decorative cakes sit at Named Locations across the island, and the edible slices spawn on plates around the base. Eating a slice restores both health and shield, so you need to be missing one or the other for the pickup to register. Birthday Presents are Legendary throwables found in chests and as floor loot; throwing one deploys a large box you can break open for loot, and the throw itself is what counts.
Birthday quest unlock times and the October 1 deadline
The event went live on September 21, 2026, but the quests and their rewards became available in a second wave at 6 AM PT alongside Mastery Monday. If the Celebration quests showed no progress before that point, this is why.

The track closes on October 1, 2026. Anything you have not unlocked by then is gone, since anniversary cosmetics are not sold in the Item Shop afterwards. Spread across roughly ten days, the heaviest requirement works out to one match a day for the Bus Driver quest.
How to claim the rewards and confirm they unlocked
Nothing needs to be redeemed manually. When you hit three, six or nine completed quests, the reward pops as an unlock notification in the lobby and the icon on the Celebration quests page changes from locked to claimed.
A Birthday Sprite also arrives later in the event window as part of a New Sprite Day update, adding cake spawns from chests and eliminations that top up health and shield. That is separate from the quest track, though, so it has no bearing on whether the three cosmetics land in your Locker before October 1.
