Every optional challenge in The Road to Haddonfield, including the ones that lock once you leave the bar.

Chapter 1 of the story mode in Halloween: The Game, titled The Road to Haddonfield, carries six optional challenges. They are not required to finish the chapter, but clearing them rewards you with extra items. The catch is that some can only be done inside the Rabbit in Red inn, and they lock the moment you step outside, so the order you tackle them in matters.

Quick answer: Finish the bar-only challenges (kill everyone inside the Rabbit in Red, use Shove, kill with the broken pool cue, and land a context execution on a biker) before you leave the inn. Save the thrown cleaver kill and three resident kills for the open Copper Lane area near the gas station. If you miss any, replay the chapter.

All 6 Chapter 1 challenges and where to complete them

ChallengeWhere to do it
Kill Everyone inside the Rabbit in RedInside the inn (locks on exit)
Use Shove to stumble a biker off balanceDuring any biker encounter
Kill any target with the broken pool cueInside the inn (cue is found there)
Execute a biker with a context executionOutside the bar or at the fridge inside
Kill any target with a thrown cleaverCopper Lane houses near the gas station
Kill any three targets in Chapter 1Copper Lane houses or the gas station

Note: The bar-locked challenges cannot be finished once a cutscene sends you outside toward the final biker. Sweep the inn fully before you leave, and open every door so no one is missed.

Kill Everyone inside the Rabbit in Red

Once you enter the club, you have to eliminate every person inside. The method is up to you. Most people are easy to spot, but two are easy to overlook. The bartender flees toward the back room, and there is a girl in the makeup room. Clear the bikers first, then hunt down these two.

After the bikers are dealt with and the cutscene plays, do not rush out. There are exactly two residents inside who will not leave the bar, and a collectible sits nearby. Explore the whole inn and open every door to confirm the room is empty before moving on.

Use Shove to stumble a biker off balance

This is the simplest of the six. When you are close to a biker, press the on-screen button prompt for Shove. The hit knocks the biker off balance and marks the challenge complete. You can do this on any of the bikers you meet at the start of the chapter or inside the inn.

Kill any target with the broken pool cue

Pool cues are scattered around the bar. There is one right by the entrance and another on the stage. Pick one up and use it to kill any victim inside. The bartender is a convenient target, but any person works. Since the cue is a bar item, this challenge cannot be completed once you leave the inn.

Execute a biker with a context execution

A context execution is a kill that uses the environment, such as slamming a victim’s head into a wall or object. The prompt appears only when you are grabbing a biker near a valid spot.

The easiest chance is right at the start, outside the bar where the group of bikers confronts you. Grab a biker, drag them close to a wall, and trigger the head slam when the prompt shows.
If you miss that opening, head inside and use the fridge as your execution spot. Grab a biker, move to the fridge, and perform the context kill there.

Kill any target with a thrown cleaver

This challenge moves you out of the inn. Reach the gas station, then take the street leading to Copper Lane. Three houses sit along this stretch, and they are the best spots to find a cleaver. The exact location shifts depending on your save, so there is some luck involved. Once you have a cleaver, throw it at any target to complete the challenge.

Kill any three targets in Chapter 1

This is the easiest to knock out because targets are plentiful. The three houses at Copper Lane usually hold enough residents, and the gas station is a good backup. Be quick, though. Residents in the open area run fast, carry weapons that can stab you, and will lock their doors from inside if they reach a house before you catch them.

How to know a challenge counted, and what to do if you missed one

Completing a challenge grants a reward item, so a successful clear registers as you play. The main failure point is timing. Anything tied to the Rabbit in Red will not count after a cutscene pulls you outside toward the final biker. You do not have to complete every challenge in one run. Retry the chapter and take your time, using the open Copper Lane stretch for the cleaver and resident kills while leaving the bar-only tasks for a run where you clear the inn first.
