Halloween: The Game: How to Complete Every Chapter 5 Challenge

Exact conditions for all six Into the Shadows tasks, from Blackout flashlights to destroying a police car before you escape.

Exact conditions for all six Into the Shadows tasks, from Blackout flashlights to destroying a police car before you escape.

Into the Shadows is the final chapter of Michael Myers’ story mode, and it carries six optional challenges tied to in-game cosmetics. Michael starts weakened after being shot, so Shape Jump is locked until you reach Tier 3 Bloodthirst, and police can now detain you if too many gather around you. None of the six tasks are required to finish the chapter, but they can be cleaned up on a replay if you miss them on your first run.

Quick answer: Use Blackout on two lit cop flashlights, land a Pitchfork execution on a cop, kill three neighborhood residents, fully Stalk a cop inside the Wallace House, avoid Loomis’ red map marker on your way out, and smash a parked police car with a melee attack before you take any escape route.

All six Chapter 5 challenges and their conditions

ChallengeCompletion condition
Use Blackout to disable 2 cop flashlights at onceTrigger Blackout while two officers point flashlights at you
Kill a Cop with a Pitchfork ExecutionFind the Pitchfork, then execute a cop with it
Kill at least 3 other Residents before escapingTake down three inhabitants marked on the map
Fully Stalk any police in the Wallace’s houseComplete a full Stalk on the cop upstairs at Annie’s babysitting house
Escape without Loomis detecting youLeave without entering the big red dot’s line of sight
Destroy any police car before you escapeMelee a parked patrol car until it is destroyed

Disable two cop flashlights with Blackout

Blackout is the new ability you unlock at the start of the chapter, and this task wants both lights active in the same activation. Draw a cop’s attention so their flashlight points at you, then hit Blackout to kill the beam. Do it a second time and the challenge completes.

The cleanest spot is an alley where two officers with flashlights stand close together. Approach from behind, wait until both beams are up, then trigger Blackout to darken both at once. If one of them has no flashlight or you get interrupted by nearby patrols, move to another alley on the left side where more officers carry lights and try again.

Kill a cop with a Pitchfork Execution

The Pitchfork spawns in a random location, so there is no fixed pickup point. Build your Bloodthirst to full, then use Stalk to reveal weapons scattered across the map. That highlight makes the Pitchfork easier to spot, but where it appears comes down to luck on each run.

Once you have it in hand, line up any cop and perform the execution with the Pitchfork equipped. The kill registers the challenge as done.

Kill three residents before escaping

Open the map and look for houses tagged with a question mark. Those buildings hold residents you can take down before they flee. The homes near the restrooms are a reliable place to check when you are hunting for targets.

Enter, eliminate the inhabitant inside, and repeat until you have three kills. Finish all three before you commit to an exit, since leaving Haddonfield ends the chapter and locks the task.

Fully Stalk a cop inside the Wallace House

Head to the house where Annie was babysitting earlier in the story. That is the correct Wallace House location for this task. Take the stairs to the second floor, where a single officer is positioned.

Stay out of sight and hold a full Stalk on him without being noticed. Reaching the top Stalk tier on that cop completes the challenge.

Escape without Loomis detecting you

Dr. Loomis shows up on the map as a large red circle, and this task is failed the moment you cross into his line of sight. Open the map to track that red dot, then plan your route so you never move through it.

Keep to cover and give his marker a wide berth as you work toward whichever exit you plan to use. Reaching an escape route without entering that zone clears the challenge.

Destroy a police car before escaping

Patrol cars are parked throughout the suburbs. Pick one, then hit it with melee attacks until it is destroyed. It only takes a handful of strikes.

As with the resident kills, make sure the car is wrecked before you leave. Once you trigger an exit, the chapter closes and this task can no longer be completed on that run.

When to leave Haddonfield

Because several of these tasks lock the instant you escape, treat the exit as the last thing you do. Clear the flashlight, Pitchfork, resident, Stalk, and police car objectives while avoiding Loomis, then head for an exit only once your checklist is empty.

Chapter 5 offers more than one way out, including a Sewer Escape and a train-track crossing, and the route you pick changes the closing sequence rather than the challenge rewards. If you still need a task after leaving, return to Into the Shadows on a replay and finish it there without redoing the earlier chapters.
