How to Complete The Anchors of Zephras in WoW Forever (Full Quest)

Find Halaan Hawk-Eye in Thendal Village, view the Anchor Pylon, and claim the Watcher's Mail Chest.

The Anchors of Zephras is one of the early Skyborne quests on Zephras Isle, and it is over almost as soon as it starts. There is nothing to kill, nothing to collect, and no wandering across the island. The whole thing happens on a single wooden tower platform in Thendal Village, and the only thing standing between you and the reward is one dialogue option.

Quick answer: Talk to Halaan Hawk-Eye on the tower platform in Thendal Village, pick “Halaan, please lend me your gift,” watch the short Anchor Pylon cutscene, then speak to him again to turn the quest in.

Where The Anchors of Zephras starts in Thendal Village

The quest giver and the turn-in NPC are the same person. Halaan Hawk-Eye, listed as one of the Rangers of Thendal Grove, stands on the raised wooden tower platform in Thendal Village on Zephras Isle. He carries the standard yellow question mark when the quest is ready to hand in, and the quest tracker points back to that same platform for both halves of the quest.

Because the objective is a viewing, not a journey, you never need to leave the tower. The game moves the camera for you.

How to complete The Anchors of Zephras

In Thendal Village, climb the tower’s wooden platform to meet Halaan Hawk-Eye. Speak with him and accept The Anchors of Zephras; that places the objective in your quest log.

Speak to him again and choose the dialogue line “Halaan, please lend me your gift.” This is the action that actually triggers the objective, so selecting any other line will leave the quest sitting incomplete.
Let the cutscene play out. The camera sweeps across the island and settles on the Anchor Pylon, wrapped in enormous chains and elemental energy, which is exactly what the quest asks you to look at.
Control returns to your character on the platform. Talk to Halaan Hawk-Eye one last time and hit Complete Quest to collect the rewards.

The cutscene is only a few seconds long, so there is no reason to skip it — the objective ticks over on its own while it plays.

How to confirm the quest objective registered

The moment the pylon appears on screen, an objective banner flashes up and the tracker reads View the Anchor Pylon: 1/1. The same completion has also shown as “Anchor of Zephras viewed: 1/1,” so either wording means the requirement is satisfied.

After that, the question mark over Halaan Hawk-Eye turns from grey to yellow and the completion window opens when you click him. If the tracker still shows 0/1, you did not take the “lend me your gift” dialogue option — go back into his conversation and pick it.

The Anchors of Zephras rewards

RewardDetail
Watcher’s Mail ChestGuaranteed quest item
Experience85–97, varies by level
ReputationHigh Order, gains of 10 and 50 recorded

The Watcher’s Mail Chest is the piece worth caring about at this stage of the island, since a chest slot upgrade this early is hard to come by. The experience payout is small because it is a single-step quest, and the High Order reputation feeds into one of the three groups fighting over the island’s future.

What you need to reach Zephras Isle

Zephras Isle is the levels 1–12 starting experience for the Skyborne, the new race in World of Warcraft: Forever, and it is not covered by a subscription alone. The race and the island’s questline are locked behind the Skyborne Heroic Pack or any higher edition, which you can pick up from the official World of Warcraft: Forever page. Forever itself launches globally on November 4, 2026, with beta testing already underway.

Faction choice happens at character creation, not on the island. High Order Skyborne are the Alliance-aligned side, which is why reputation with that group shows up in the quest rewards.

Everything on the island ties back to the failing pylons that keep Zephras anchored in Skywall, and this quest is the moment the game shows you one of them up close. It takes under a minute, and it hands you a mail chest on the way out, so there is no reason to walk past Halaan Hawk-Eye’s tower on your first pass through Thendal Village.
