In Windows 11, the optional updates now have their own section in the Windows Update settings. The optional updates include various drivers for the components you have on your computer, package update for third-party software, and more.

Optional updates are most of the time not necessary for your system at all. Although, at times when any hardware becomes unresponsive or doesn’t work properly, you can try installing these optional updates to eliminate the problem.

Downloading Windows 11 Optional Updates

Start by opening the Settings app by pressing Windows+i on your keyboard or by searching for the app in Windows search.

To get to the Optional updates menu, first, click on ‘Windows Update’ from the left panel and then select ‘Advanced options’ from the Windows Update menu on the right.

After that, click on ‘Optional updates’.

You will see all the optional updates listed here. In this case, 3 Logitech driver updates are available under the ‘Driver updates’ section.

To download any of these updates, check the box before the update and then click on the ‘Download & install’ button.

It will take you to the main Windows Update settings page and you will see that the download has begun.

Depending on the update, you might have to restart your computer. To do so, click on the ‘Restart Now’ button to restart your PC immediately and install the update.
