Quack Snacks are a Legendary consumable in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 that exist for one purpose: to skip the grind of leveling up your Sprite. Instead of chasing eliminations to push your active Sprite to the next rank, you eat a snack and the level jumps up instantly. They arrived in the v41.10 update and have quickly become a staple for players who build their match around collecting and mastering Sprites.
Quick answer: Buy Quack Snacks for 1,500 Gold from any Mending Machine (the vending machine marked with a medic cross), then equip the item and hold your fire button (R2/RT) to eat it. Your active Sprite immediately gains one level.
What Quack Snacks do for your Sprite
Eating a Quack Snack raises your active Sprite by exactly one level, no matter what level it currently sits at. A Level 4 Sprite becomes Level 5 the moment the eating animation finishes. That is the whole effect. Unlike items such as Shock Rocks, a Quack Snack gives no direct combat or movement utility to your character. Its only job is to make your Sprite stronger by pushing it toward its mastery rank.
Because Sprites provide passive bonuses while they follow you, a higher level means a stronger version of whatever effect your Sprite specializes in. That is why the snack is valuable for anyone working through the Sprite leveling system rather than racing for the Victory Royale alone.

Quack Snacks are not regular floor loot. You buy them from Mending Machines, which appear at nearly every named POI and landmark on the map. Look for the vending machine with the glowing medic cross on the front; that is the one that stocks them. There is also a very slim chance of pulling Quack Snacks from Sprite Chests, but the Mending Machine is the reliable source.

Each Quack Snack costs 1,500 Gold, and a single Mending Machine only holds a stack of three. That price tag means there is little reason to land directly on a machine at the start of a match. You will usually have no Gold and no Sprite worth upgrading. The smarter play is to loot a few chests for weapons and Gold first, then return to a machine once you can actually afford the purchase.
To build up Gold quickly, hit cash registers and crack open Vaults, which yield the highest amounts. Target those high-value areas early so your wallet is full before you commit to a snack.

How to use Quack Snacks to level up your Sprite

Best time to use Quack Snacks
Since the snack is expensive, timing it well is what makes the 1,500 Gold worthwhile. Hold off on eating one until your Sprite has already reached Level 4. That final step to Level 5 is the hardest to earn through normal play, and it often comes due right as the endgame circles close in. A Quack Snack lets you clear that last stretch on demand instead of hunting for eliminations during the chaos.
Save the snack for moments where the upgrade pays off, such as before the storm tightens into its final phases or ahead of a major fight against a strong squad. Once your Sprite is mastered, you can use a Portable Extractor to send it back into your collection so the progress sticks.
Note: Spending Gold on a snack when you have no Sprite to upgrade gives you nothing in return, so always have an active Sprite ready before you buy.
Quack Snacks availability
Epic Games temporarily pulled Quack Snacks from matches while working on a fix shortly after the item launched. If a machine is not selling them, that disable is the likely reason. Epic stated the item would be turned back on once the fix was ready, so check the official status channel before assuming a machine is broken.
When they are active, Quack Snacks are the fastest, most predictable way to push a Sprite to its next rank in Chapter 7 Season 3. Stack your Gold early, keep an active Sprite in tow, and spend the snack at Level 4 to finish the climb to mastery exactly when it matters most.
