How to Max Level Sprites Fast in Fortnite Runners (Chapter 7 Season 3)

The exact XP values, campfire double-XP trick, and extraction step that lock in every Sprite Mastery.

The exact XP values, campfire double-XP trick, and extraction step that lock in every Sprite Mastery.

Sprites are the headline mechanic of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners, and each one climbs from Level 1 to Level 5 on its own XP track. Hitting Level 5 and then extracting that Sprite is what “Masters” it, unlocking stronger abilities and Mastery Rewards. The fastest way to get there is to stack Double Sprite XP and feed your equipped Sprite as much XP as possible in a single match.

Quick answer: Land on a Campfire with a Sprite equipped and light it to earn Double Sprite XP for the rest of the match, then open every Chest, Ammo Box, and Container and rack up eliminations until the Sprite reaches Level 5. Extract it at Level 5 to Master it.

How Sprite XP and leveling work

Every Sprite starts at Level 1 and tops out at Level 5, with each rank costing more XP than the last. XP only goes to the Sprite you currently have equipped on your back, and it does not transfer between two of the same type. If you own a Level 2 Fire Sprite and pick up another Fire Sprite in a match, you have to level that new one up and extract it separately. Getting eliminated also resets a picked-up Sprite, and you will need to spend Sprite Dust to recover it from your collection at Level 1.

These are the actions that feed XP to your equipped Sprite:

ActionSprite XP
Extract a duplicate Sprite+200
Eliminate an enemy+200
Down an enemy+100
Extract a different Sprite+100
Open a Chest, Ammo Box, or Container+75

Reaching Level 5 does two things. It adds a Sprite Mastery and raises the Sprite’s power. The Duck Sprite, for example, grants +5 Shield per tick when emoting or jamming at max level instead of +1.

Double Sprite XP from Campfires (fastest method)

During the Summer Event, lighting a Campfire while a Sprite is equipped grants Double Sprite XP for the rest of the match. The bonus is not tied to the single Sprite on your back at the time. It carries over to any Sprite you equip later in that same match, including ones you have not picked up yet. With this active, three Sprites can be Mastered in one game.

Drop at a Campfire with a Sprite already equipped on your back. Campfires on the outskirts of the island are safer because you are less likely to run into other players.
Light the Campfire to trigger Double Sprite XP. The boost lasts for the rest of the match.
Loot the area aggressively. Open every Chest, Ammo Box, and Container, and take eliminations where you can. A dense location like Latte Landing works well because it is packed with Chests and also lets you farm Gold from Chests and Cash Registers.
Once a Sprite hits Level 5, swap to your next Sprite. The Double XP carries over, so you can level a second and third Sprite in the same run.

Play during Mastery Monday for doubled XP

Mastery Monday doubles Sprite XP across the board, so opening Containers, getting eliminations, and extracting Sprites all level up twice as fast. The window runs every Monday from 9 AM ET and ends the following Tuesday at the same time. Pairing Mastery Monday with the Campfire boost is the quickest path to clearing several Sprites in a sitting.

Quack Snacks for instant levels

Quack Snacks are a consumable that grant one full level to your currently equipped Sprite each time you use one. They show up as ground loot and inside Chests, and the most reliable way to buy them is from Vending Machines for 1,500 Gold each. Get a Sprite to Level 3 with the Campfire method first, then use Snacks to finish the climb to Level 5.

Note: Quack Snack availability has been inconsistent since launch, so they may not always appear in Vending Machines or as loot. If you cannot find them, fall back on Campfire Double XP and Mastery Monday.

Avoid bot lobbies for leveling

Sprite XP is nerfed in bot lobbies. Containers and eliminations award far less XP there even with the Campfire boost active, so progression is much slower. Stick to regular lobbies when your goal is to level Sprites, even though the loot rush is calmer against bots.

Extract at Level 5 to lock in the Mastery

Reaching Level 5 is not the finish line. You have to extract the Sprite to Master it and return it safely to the lobby. If you die or fail to extract after hitting max level, you lose that progress and have to spend Sprite Dust to recover the Sprite at Level 1. Portable Extractors make this faster, and you can buy them at Extraction Sites or earn them through Daily Quests.

You know it worked when the Sprite appears in your collection as Mastered. Each type you Master to Level 5 pays out from the Sprites Mastery Rewards tab in the lobby, granting XP, Sprite Dust, and Portable Extractors. Because every Sprite tracks its own level, plan to repeat the Campfire-and-extract loop once per Sprite you want maxed.
