Fabulous Rod skins are cosmetic reskins that change how the rod looks and, in some cases, its bobber, without touching the rod’s stats. Nine skins exist for the Fabulous Rod, and each one comes from a different source, ranging from a free Mastery reward to limited Robux purchases and event drops.
Quick answer: You must own the base Fabulous Rod first. Once you do, the earnable skin is the Golden Fabulous Rod, unlocked by completing every Rod Mastery quest for the rod. Other skins come from codes, the Void Skin Crate, Fischmas events, and limited Robux offers.

You need the Fabulous Rod first
Skins only apply to a rod you already own, so the base Fabulous Rod is the prerequisite. It is a Stage 12 rod obtained by finishing the Fabulous Deity’s questline. The Fabulous Deity NPC is found in the Calm Zone, and you must be Level 1000 to start the quest.
Until the base rod is in your inventory, none of the skins below can be equipped, even if you already own or claim them.

Golden Fabulous Rod: The Mastery reward
The Golden Fabulous Rod is the only skin you earn purely through gameplay. It is the Grand Reward for finishing every Rod Mastery quest tied to the Fabulous Rod. Rod Mastery for this rod has a starting level requirement of 1000.
Once all three quests are cleared, the Golden Fabulous Rod skin unlocks as the Grand Reward. You will see it appear in the rod’s skin list, where you can equip it.

Code skins: Minty Fab and Tiny Fabulous Rod
Two skins are tied to codes. Minty Fab was the launch skin released alongside the rod, and Tiny Fabulous Rod is a separate code reward. Both are redeemed in the game’s code entry menu, and once claimed they attach to your Fabulous Rod’s skin options.
Robux skins: Froggy Snips, Sweetheart Scissors, and Cobalt Crusader
Three scissor-styled skins are sold for Robux and marked as limited, meaning they are not always available. Froggy Snips is the cheapest at 599 Robux, while Sweetheart Scissors and Cobalt Crusader each cost 1499 Robux. Because they are limited, buy them while the offer is active if you want them.
Crate and event skins: Voided, Fabulous Gift, and XMAS
The remaining skins come from drops and events, so luck and timing matter more than grinding a set task.
- Voided Fabulous Rod drops from the Void Skin Crate at a 3.5% chance.
- Fabulous Gift is a Fischmas Exclusive Express reward with a 1% chance.
- XMAS Fabulous Rod is an OG reward granted only to players who owned the original Fabulous Rod. It is untradeable and cannot be obtained any other way.
Note: The Fischmas skins are tied to seasonal events, so they are only obtainable while those events are running.

Whichever look you’re after, the path is the same at the start: earn the base Fabulous Rod, then decide whether to grind Mastery for the Golden skin, redeem a code, or spend Robux on the limited scissor designs. Skins never change the rod’s stats, so the choice is purely about how you want your Fabulous Rod to look on the water.
