The Lucky Locator is a single-use Extraction Gizmo that marks a buried Sprite Chest containing a Sprite missing from your collection. With the final Override update active and the Sprite pool exceeding 100 entries, finding the last rare variants at random can take hours. A Respawn Rumble exploit bypasses that limit: activate the Locator and extract a Sprite without using up the Gizmo.
Quick answer: Load into Respawn Rumble, use one Lucky Locator, grab the guaranteed new Sprite, then extract it with an Extraction Accelerator and leave the match. Neither Gizmo is spent, so you can repeat it.
What the Lucky Locator does
Fire the Lucky Locator and it sends out a pulse, then pins a buried Sprite Chest on the map, much like the standard Sprite Locator. The difference is the payout. A normal Sprite Locator can lead you to a duplicate, while the Lucky Locator always marks a chest holding a Sprite missing from your collection, often with a hologram preview of what is waiting underground.
The Locator targets only Sprites you have yet to discover, so your odds change as your collection grows. With fewer undiscovered Sprites remaining, the chance of getting a Legendary or Mythic increases, making this the most direct way to pursue elusive variants.
The Lucky Locator cannot pull a Sprite that is not yet in the loot pool. Anything still waiting to go live is off the table until Epic officially adds it.

Your Gizmo inventory needs at least one Lucky Locator and one Extraction Accelerator. Currently, extracting a total of 35 Sprites earns you two Lucky Locators. Once you have both Gizmos, you can repeat the exploit without limit.
- At least one Lucky Locator
- One Extraction Accelerator
- Access to the Respawn Rumble mode
How to perform the Respawn Rumble glitch
How to confirm the glitch worked
Back in the lobby, open your Gizmo menu. If the exploit went through, none of your Lucky Locators or Extraction Accelerators will have been consumed, while the Sprite you just pulled now sits in your collection. You can repeat the same loop to fill out the rest of your Sprites without ever running out of Gizmos.
Exploits like this are usually patched quickly. When Epic closes it, there is a chance your extracted Sprites get reversed, so proceed knowing that risk.
How to unlock the Lucky Locator
Lucky Locator comes at no cost through the Sprite Mastery track. To collect it, master 55 Sprites by the end of Chapter 7 Season 3. You cannot purchase it or find it in regular loot; the Mastery track is the only way to get it.
Mastering a Sprite requires two actions: raise it to Level 5, then extract it from a match. Its level resets if you lose it, so keep carried Sprites safe and extract them before elimination.
The Lucky Locator is tied to your account. An opponent who knocks you down cannot take it, and it remains yours between matches unless you fire it.
How to equip and use it normally
Outside the glitch, getting eliminated after firing the Lucky Locator costs you the Gizmo entirely. Use it only in a match where you can reach the chest safely.
Lucky Locator outcomes and limits
| Situation | What you get |
|---|---|
| Still missing Sprites | A guaranteed Sprite you don’t own, with better odds at rarer ones as your pool shrinks |
| Collected every available Sprite | A duplicate, prioritizing Sprites you haven’t yet mastered |
| Sprite not yet in the loot pool | Nothing; unreleased Sprites can’t drop early |
If you want a newly released Sprite, wait for it to officially arrive in-game, then use a Lucky Locator to remove chance from the hunt. In the meantime, advance your Sprite Mastery so the Gizmo is ready as soon as the exploit or the Sprite you want becomes available.
