The Mini Bow is the only bow in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave with a 1–2 attack range, which lets archers, snipers, and charioteers hit back when a melee enemy steps right next to them. That single trait fixes the usual blind spot of pure bow units, so it is worth chasing down for any character who fights with a bow.
Quick answer: Buy Quality Weapon Crates from an overworld merchant or the Megaira Item Shop, then open them until a Mini Bow drops. Save on the world map before buying so you can reload until you pull it.
Mini Bow stats and range
The Mini Bow is a D-rank bow described in-game as “a small, easily handled bow.” Its draw is the 1–2 range, which no other standard bow offers. Like every bow, it also deals triple damage to flying units.
| Stat | Value | Stat | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Might | 5 | Hit | 75 |
| Weight | 5 | Crit | 0 |
| Range | 1-2 | Avoid | 0 |
| Durability | 20 | Skill Level | Bow D |
A forged Mini Bow+1 adds a combat bonus, granting AS+2 during combat against an adjacent foe, which helps the unit double melee attackers it would normally struggle to keep up with.

Quality Weapon Crates give one random weapon or piece of equipment when opened, and the Mini Bow sits in that loot pool. Crates come from wandering overworld merchants such as Vandahl, Kassite, and Pandora, and from fixed shops in certain settlements. Hover over a map point that shows a green merchant silhouette to check its wares before you travel there.
| Location | Shop | Cost per crate | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Breston (Panthea) | Vandahl Trading Co. | 1 Cinnamos | 5 |
| Mahón Castle Town (Soleion) | Vandahl Trading Co. | 1 Crestor + 1 Apatta | 5 |
| Megaira (Savelion) | Item Shop | 560 Gold | 2 |

The Breston crates cost Cinnamos, a material you can gather at the Rear Mountain Path search node. The Megaira Item Shop is the easiest to reload against, because it charges plain Gold and keeps two crates in stock at all times.
If a wandering Vandahl merchant shows a Quality Weapon Crate in stock, buy it when you see it. Their wares shuffle at random and may not return.
Save scum a Mini Bow at Megaira
Crate contents are rolled the moment you open them, so a hard save before you buy lets you reload and reroll until the Mini Bow appears. Megaira in Savelion is the best spot for this because its Item Shop stocks two crates for Gold.

You will know it worked when the item-reward screen names the Mini Bow instead of another weapon. The bow then sits in your inventory ready to equip on any compatible unit. Because each reload also refunds the 1,120 Gold, the only real cost is the time spent rerolling.
Other ways to get a Mini Bow
Crates are the reliable method, but a few routes hand you a Mini Bow directly. These depend on which story path you are playing.
- A Mini Bow sits in a chest near the boss in Chapter 2 of Leda’s Path.
- Halvin arrives equipped with a Mini Bow when recruited on Cai’s route.
- Quality Weapon Crates can also drop from glowing spots in Dagsion’s dungeons and overworld skirmishes.
On routes with no fixed Mini Bow, such as Theodora’s, the crate roll is the only way to obtain one.
Classes that can equip the Mini Bow
Only bow-capable classes can wield it, so put it on a unit built for ranged combat. Dietrich, Kai, and Theodora are strong candidates once they sit in a suitable class. The full list is below.
- Hunter, Archer, Rogue
- Charioteer, Dancer, Sniper
- Forest Knight, Ranger, Bow Adept
- Bow Knight, Shadow Seeker, The Apsara, The Calamity
Classes outside this group cannot hold the Mini Bow at all. Once it is equipped on one of them, that unit gains the ability to strike at range and still trade blows with anything that closes the gap, which is exactly what makes this small bow worth the farming.
