The Skateboard Shop sits inside Pancake Station in RE:Heads, Please!, but it stays closed until you run an errand for the shopkeeper. That errand is a hidden-item hunt spread across the station, and finishing it is the only thing standing between you and a skateboard that makes crossing the map far quicker than walking.
Quick answer: Talk to Mahiru at the Skateboard Shop counter in Pancake Station to start the quest, then collect all 5 hidden spray cans and all 5 hidden board markers around the station. The shop opens once the tenth item is picked up, and you ride with Q on PC (LT on controller) and boost with R (LB).
Start the Skateboard Shop quest with Mahiru

You do not need money, tickets, or any coin progression to accept the quest. Everything is a pickup, so a fresh account can complete it as easily as an established one.

The ten pickups are scattered across the underground level, the ground floor, and the second floor of Pancake Station. Most are tucked behind or underneath scenery rather than left in the open, so approach each landmark closely and look down as well as around.
| Item | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Red spray can | Underground men’s restroom, on the floor beneath the leftmost sink |
| Blue spray can | Inside the trash can underneath the updates board in the underground area |
| Black spray can | Second floor, inside the empty shop to the right of the gambling shop |
| Green spray can | Upstairs, behind the plant to the left of the restroom entrance |
| Pink spray can | Second floor, inside the coin upgrade merchant’s toolkit |
| Pink board marker | Below the purple flower Easter egg |
| Red board marker | Under the table beside the Enchanter shopkeeper |
| Blue board marker | Behind the counter next to the accessory shopkeeper |
| White board marker | Behind the TV inside the gambling parlor |
| Green board marker | On top of the green vending machine on the path leading to the underground subway |
Several markers are hidden right at shop counters, including the one under the table next to the Enchanter in the Library of Arcana. Walk behind and around the merchant desks rather than stopping at the interaction prompt, since the pickups sit outside the normal customer position.

Tip: clear one floor at a time instead of chasing sprays and markers separately. The underground restroom, updates board, and subway path cover three pickups in a single loop, and the second floor holds four more.

How to confirm the shop has unlocked
Every pickup fires an on-screen confirmation with a running count, such as “You’ve found Boardmarker 5 FOUND”. Use that counter to work out what is still missing instead of retracing the whole station.
Once the tenth item is collected, the Skateboard Shop becomes usable. You can then browse and customize skateboards at the counter, and the skateboard itself becomes available to ride anywhere on the map.
Skateboard controls on PC, mobile, and controller
| Action | PC | Controller | Mobile |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skateboard ride | Q | LT | On-screen skateboard button |
| Skateboard boost | R | LB | On-screen boost button |
| Coin flip | Click | RT | Touch |
| Emote | G | D-Pad Down | Emote interface |
Q to hop on the board. Your character switches to a riding stance and moves noticeably faster than on foot, using the same movement keys as normal.R on a clear stretch to boost. Save it for long straight runs, such as the corridor down to the subway, rather than crowded shop floors.
The board is purely a movement tool, so Auto Flip and your coin income keep running while you travel. It pays off most on repeated trips between the station platforms, the Fountain, and Another Station.

If the skateboard does not respond
If Q does nothing, first confirm all ten items were actually picked up and that Mahiru’s shop is open. If the count is complete and the key still fails, rejoin the experience so your data reloads on a fresh server.
If R does nothing, make sure you are already riding — the boost only works while the board is deployed. On mobile, the ride and boost controls appear on screen near the movement controls, and their exact position can shift with screen size, so look for the buttons rather than expecting a keyboard prompt.
Note: the game is still in beta, so control placement and interface layout can move between updates. If a button vanishes after a patch, rejoining usually restores it.
Because none of the ten pickups cost currency, the whole unlock is worth doing early — a single lap of Pancake Station buys you permanently faster travel for every coin, accessory, and enchanting trip that follows.
