Warzone changes when Season 1 starts

Most of the available Season 1 information concerns Warzone. Starting November 6, it adopts Modern Warfare 4 content and seasonal progression, linking the two games into one experience.

Two maps arrive with it. Zodiac is a new Resurgence map, and it features a train. Hajin, the DMZ map, comes to Battle Royale.

The rest of the Season 1 changes for Warzone cover hardware, carry-over content, and a new display option.

  • Season 1’s launch ends Warzone access on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
  • Operators and weapons from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7 stay usable, including skins and Blueprints you earned or bought.
  • Find older weapons in the Loadout menu’s Legacy tab.
  • In Warzone, the Vault Edition’s Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, Special Forces Operator Pack, and Signature Weapon Collection become available in Season 1; MW4 supports them from launch.
  • The Operator Skin toggle starts disabled. If activated, it displays non-MW4 Operators used by other players as MW4 Operators on your screen alone.

Battle Pass and BlackCell in Modern Warfare 4 Season 1

With Season 1, MW4 unlocks its paid Battle Pass and BlackCell. The pass offers rewards across seasonal tiers, and players mainly obtain it with COD Points through the in-game Store. Your Activision account stores your progress and unlocked items, letting them follow you between platforms when you use that same linked account.

The Vault Edition comes with one BlackCell season. For pre-orders, that season is Season 1; BlackCell and its COD Points and Tier Skips become usable as soon as the in-game Season 1 Battle Pass goes live.

Season 1 details Infinity Ward has not announced yet

For MW4 itself, Season 1 is still mostly a date. As of October 17, 2026, these pieces have not been announced:

  • The exact start time on November 6
  • Season 1 additions to MW4 Multiplayer: new maps, modes, weapons, or Operators
  • The Season 1 Battle Pass contents
  • Details on the Season 1 BlackCell Operator and Blueprint
  • Season 1 changes to DMZ
  • Ranked Play timing

Kill Block follows a similar rollout. Gunfight 3v3 and 10v10 are available at launch; Infinity Ward has also confirmed that additional sections and layouts will arrive during MW4’s live seasons, with compatibility for more core Multiplayer modes planned for later seasons. The timing of each change by season remains unspecified, so none is confirmed for November 6.
