Open the hidden lobby room, switch the hat setting to True, and keep depositing hats until the badge fires.

Natural Disaster Survival contains another goal beyond the animal rescue objective most players complete in The Hunt: Roblox 20’s 2011 stage. Find it in the underground chamber below the waiting lobby, activate it yourself, and receive both a badge and the Personal Safety Spikes accessory.

Quick answer: Stand on the grey podium under the lobby’s blue staircase, change canCollectHats to True on the blue monitor, then deposit 20 hats into the Donation Box.

What you need before the secret room will open

The hidden route is gated by event progress, not by anything inside Natural Disaster Survival itself. Reaching the 2011 lobby and finishing the animal rescue does not unlock it.

  • All 20 main quests in The Hunt: Roblox 20 completed, with Year Infinity unlocked.
  • The Natural Disaster Survival clue followed from the hub before you enter the experience.
  • A public server. The hat mechanic does not function on private servers.
  • Time before the event closes on September 28 at 1 p.m. ET.

Secret quests opened on September 19, separate from the normal era objectives. Once the clue is done, join the Natural Disaster Survival experience directly.

Find the secret room under the lobby podium

Spawn into the waiting lobby and look for the blue spiral staircase in the middle of the room. Walk down it all the way to the bottom floor.
Stand in the centre of the grey circular podium at the base of the stairs and interact with it. The floor opens and drops you into the underground room. No NPC, key, or currency is involved.

Switch the hat objective on at the blue monitor

Inside the room there is a wall-mounted blue monitor covered in script text. One line controls whether hats can be picked up at all, and it starts switched off next to your username.

canCollectHats[YourUsername] = false

Click the false value, delete it completely, and type true in its place. That single edit arms the quest. Hats will not drop or register until the line reads true for the account you are actually playing on.

Finding the Donation Box does not start anything on its own. If you leave the room without touching the monitor, every hat you chase afterwards is wasted.

How hats drop during disaster rounds

Hats come out of ordinary rounds on the regular disaster maps. There is no special mode and no dedicated map. Two things put a hat on the ground in front of you.

  • A player dies, takes disaster damage, resets, or leaves the server mid-round.
  • Hats spawn at random points around the map during a round.

Unlike the animals in the 2011 rescue task, hats have no per-round cap. You can carry several at once, and picking up three in a single round is realistic on a busy server. Survive to the end of the round with whatever you are holding, because dying mid-round costs you the haul.

A populated public server is worth more than a safe one. More players means more resets and deaths, which means more hats on the floor per round.

Deposit the hats in the Donation Box

The Donation Box is the glass display case sitting opposite the monitor in the underground room. Only what goes into that box counts. Pickups on their own do nothing for the counter.

Finish the round alive with your hats still on you and wait to be returned to the waiting lobby.
Go back down the blue staircase, stand on the podium again, and drop into the secret room.
Drop every hat you are carrying into the glass Donation Box, then head back up for the next round and repeat the loop.
Claiming the Badge00:55Claiming the Badge

The target sits at 20 deposited hats, although some runs report the box asking for as many as 25 before it pays out. Treat 20 as the point where you start watching for the award and keep feeding the box until it fires rather than counting down to an exact number and quitting early.

How to confirm the Secret Quest badge unlocked

When the final deposit is accepted, the glass box visibly fills and a badge award notification appears on screen. The badge is listed on your Roblox account as Roblox 20 Secret Quest – Hat Donation Box.

Wait for the notification to appear before exiting the server. The game and hub exchange event progress, so disconnecting during that transfer may cause a completed objective to appear unfinished when you rejoin.

Claim Personal Safety Spikes in the 2011 hub

The badge and the wearable are separate. The accessory is not handed to you underground, so there is no point searching the secret room after the last deposit.

Return to The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub and go back to the 2011 Natural Disaster Survival area.
Look to the right side of the map for the red barn building and walk around behind it.
Push through the bushes to find the hidden path and drop-down hole, then touch the reward statue to claim Personal Safety Spikes, a neck accessory published by Roblox.

If the count is not moving

Work through these in order before restarting a collection run.

SymptomWhat to check
The room will not open20 main quests done, Year Infinity unlocked, hub clue followed
No hats are appearingMonitor value set to true; you are on a public server
Counter stuckHats carried but never dropped into the Donation Box
Badge or statue missingRound not survived, or deposits under the threshold

If everything looks correct and the badge still has not registered, rejoin the hub or the server and check again before repeating the loop. A stale session is a more common cause than a failed deposit.

The whole route is a grind rather than a puzzle once the monitor is flipped, so the limiting factor is time. With the event running until 1 p.m. ET on September 28, a few busy public servers are usually enough to fill the box and collect both rewards.
