Every Glider Pal and What Each Partner Skill Does in Palworld 1.0

A full breakdown of the seven glider Pals, their glide speeds, unlock levels, and how to put them to work.

Seven Pals in Palworld are tied to gliding, and they no longer replace a glider the way they once did. Instead, keeping the right one in your party changes how your equipped glider behaves, from raw travel speed to gaining altitude mid-air.

Quick answer: The glider Pals are Galeclaw, Celaray, Celaray Lux, Killamari, Killamari Primo, Hangyu, and Hangyu Cryst. Craft that Pal’s gloves at a Pal Gear Workbench, keep the Pal in your party, and its Partner Skill boosts your equipped glider. Galeclaw gives the fastest glide and lets you fire a weapon while airborne.

How glider Pals work in Palworld 1.0

Since Version 0.5.5, and still in 1.0, glider Pals cannot be deployed as a standalone glider. You always glide with a crafted glider in your Glider slot. What these Pals now do is provide a Partner Skill while they sit in your active party, and that skill modifies the speed, lift, or duration of whatever glider you have equipped.

The trade-off is a party slot. A glider Pal only helps while it is in your team, so you give up one of your five slots to keep it there. If you would rather field five combat Pals, you can skip the glider Pal entirely and rely on a standard crafted glider.

All glider Pals, speeds, and unlock levels

Speed values below run from Level 1 (base) to Level 5 (fully condensed). Condensing a Pal both raises its top glide speed and lowers stamina drain, so the maximum figures are what you get after investing duplicates.

What each Partner Skill actually changes

The seven Pals split into three roles: pure horizontal speed, extended float distance, and vertical lift. Pick based on how you travel.

Fastest horizontal travel: Galeclaw

Galeclaw is the clear speed leader. Its base glide already matches the late-game Hyper Glider, and a fully condensed Galeclaw reaches 1700 speed. Its bigger advantage is combat utility, since Galeclaw Rider frees your right hand and lets you fire a gun or crossbow while gliding. Spamming the glide at ground level even moves you faster than sprinting, which makes it a strong escape tool during boss fights.

Note: only the bird named Galeclaw works this way. Other Pals that borrow the Galeclaw model count as flying mounts, not glider partners.

Speed and safe landings: Celaray and Celaray Lux

Celaray is usually the first glider Pal you catch, spawning along the coasts near the starting islands, and its Zephyr Glider skill raises glide speed while preventing fall damage. Celaray Lux pushes this further, keeping the fall-damage protection and extending the duration of high-speed gliding, with a top speed of 1300 when maxed.

Longest float distance: Killamari and Killamari Primo

Killamari trades speed for reach. Fried Squid produces a slow, extended glide that carries you across long gaps other Pals cannot clear. Killamari is dungeon-exclusive rather than a wild spawn, so you either capture it inside a dungeon or hatch it from a Dark egg. Killamari Primo shares the same speed profile and offers gentle floating for an extended time.

Vertical lift: Hangyu and Hangyu Cryst

These two are the odd ones out. Their forward speed is very low, but their Partner Skills pull you upward while gliding instead of dropping you toward the ground. That lift is worth roughly two floors of altitude, which is ideal for scaling cliffs, reaching high ledges, or finishing a climb when a flying mount runs out of stamina. Hangyu Cryst’s Winter Trapeze functions the same as Hangyu’s Flying Trapeze despite the different name. Deploy them close to the ground to avoid overshooting and taking fall damage.

How to equip and use a glider Pal

Get the Pal itself. Most glider Pals are caught with Pal Spheres in the wild, while Killamari comes from dungeons. You can also breed toward any of them if you prefer.
Build a Pal Gear Workbench, then craft that Pal’s specific gloves at it. The workbench needs Paldium Fragment x10, Wood x30, and Cloth x4. Each Pal Gear has its own recipe, so gather the materials for the exact glove you want.
Move the glider Pal from your Palbox into your active party. If you carry more than one glider Pal, the game uses whichever sits highest in the party order.
Equip a crafted glider in your Glider slot, jump into the air, and press the jump button again to deploy it. With the Pal and its gloves present, the Partner Skill applies automatically. You will notice the change immediately in glide speed or lift. You do not need to hold the jump button to stay airborne.

Condensing to boost glide speed

To reach the Level 5 speeds in the table, upgrade the Pal’s Partner Skill at the Pal Essence Condenser by feeding it duplicates of the same species. Each rank raises gliding speed and cuts stamina consumption, so a maxed glider Pal crosses larger gaps without landing.

One thing that does not help: movement-speed passives. A Pal’s walking or running speed has no effect on how fast it glides, so skills like Swift or Runner will not improve travel through the air. Only condensing the Pal moves the number up.

Because the Pal only needs its gloves sitting in your Key Items and the Pal in your party, this setup also leaves your secondary gear slot free for armor or defensive items. If speed matters most, take Galeclaw. If you need to climb, take Hangyu. For everything in between, Celaray covers early travel and Killamari covers the longest jumps.
