Boulderguard item card: Effect and description

Boulderguard is a “Defensive” accessory. Its effect line reads “Reduces damage taken by 15% while not Guard-Broken.”

Its description reads:

“The Four Axes were four brothers who wandered the Wulin, never coveting fine robes, famed blades, or treasured artifacts. They lived by a code of righteousness, believing that as long as they walked an upright path, they had nothing to fear from blades lurking in the shadows. Yet the sharpest blade seldom cuts flesh. It strikes at the heart.”

How to polish Boulderguard

Boulderguard can be polished once through Jewel. The polish changes only its values unless its line specifies a different effect.

Polish 1“Reduces damage taken by 20% while not Guard-Broken.”3,168 Remnant Dust + Tainted Crystal Shard

The Tainted Crystal Shard is the part you have to source. Quick Hand Zhang sells one for 7,440 Remnant Dust, or you can find a Tainted Crystal Shard in the world instead.

What Boulderguard is good for

Boulderguard lowers incoming damage by 15%, rising to 20% after polishing, while your status is not Guard-Broken. Keeping your guard intact preserves the benefit; the Guard Break mechanic turns it off. Its one polish requires 3,168 Remnant Dust in addition to the shard.

You have three accessory slots open from the start, so Boulderguard can sit alongside other picks. For more ways to stack protection, see the options for how to increase defense, or browse the full accessories list with every effect and location.
