Quick answer: Kuye Dew is in a chest in the Crimson Forest, about 98 m from the Outlaw Trap bell. At Lv 1 it cuts damage taken by 20% for 15 seconds and restores 40% HP over 10 seconds.

Where to find Kuye Dew

Kuye Dew is a remedy, which is a healing item you equip in a medicine slot. You get it from a chest in the Crimson Forest region of Phantom Blade Zero.

Start at the Outlaw Trap bell, which is the closest bell to the chest. Rest there before you head out, because bells act as both fast travel points and respawn points. The chest is about 98 m from the bell in a straight line, and it sits roughly 20 m lower than the bell.

The chest is marked on the remedies layer of the Crimson Forest interactive map. If you’re clearing the whole region, the full set of Crimson Forest collectibles covers everything else there.

Once you open the chest, the remedy shows this effect at Lv 1:

“Reduces damage taken by 20% for 15 seconds and restores 40% HP over 10 seconds.”

The item description reads:

“A treasured remedy of Kuye Temple. Consuming it temporarily hardens the body like stone, fortifying it against blades. Ever since it found its way into the Wulin, Mandate disciples have fought over it, even drawing blades on one another.”

Kuye Dew upgrades

Each upgrade raises the damage reduction, its duration, the HP restored, or the number of uses. Here is what each level gives you and what it costs:

LevelEffectUsesCost
Lv 2“Reduces damage taken by 30% for 15 seconds and restores 40% HP over 10 seconds.”32,800 Remnant Dust
Lv 3“Reduces damage taken by 30% for 20 seconds and restores 50% HP over 10 seconds.”34,200 Remnant Dust
Lv 4“Reduces damage taken by 30% for 20 seconds and restores 50% HP over 10 seconds.”45,600 Remnant Dust
Lv 5“Reduces damage taken by 40% for 20 seconds and restores 50% HP over 10 seconds.”47,000 Remnant Dust

Lv 7“Reduces damage taken by 40% for 25 seconds and restores 60% HP over 10 seconds.”59,800 Remnant Dust

Taking Kuye Dew from Lv 1 to Lv 7 costs 37,800 Remnant Dust in total.

Remnant Dust alone won’t cover the upgrade costs; Healer’s Memory materials are also required, and the necessary tier rises as you progress:

  • Apprentice to reach Lv 2
  • Skilled for Lv 2 to Lv 4
  • Master from Lv 4 to max

You can buy Healer’s Memory materials from Quick Hand Zhang.

How to use Kuye Dew

You have two medicine slots, so you can carry two remedies at once. On PC, the default keys are R for Lower Medicine and T for Upper Medicine. The rest of the system is covered in how healing works.

Kuye Dew’s healing arrives over 10 seconds rather than all at once. The damage cut outlasts the heal, running 15 seconds at Lv 1 and 25 seconds from Lv 6. That timing makes it better suited to long fights, like bosses, than to a last-second emergency heal.
