Quick answer: Thundermoon Lantern is found in Mirage Estate, near the Zhang’s Hideout (Mirage Estate) bell, as a reward or pickup in the world. A Thunderstrike Effect on an enemy triggers Lightning Strikes on enemies around it.
Where to find Thundermoon Lantern
Before going after the lantern, rest at the bell in Zhang’s Hideout (Mirage Estate). Bells provide fast travel and establish your respawn point, so after dying you can return near the lantern instead of making a long trek.
The Mirage Estate interactive map marks Thundermoon Lantern with a pin. Click the pin to see its details.

The item card lists the accessory’s type as “Offensive”. It has this effect:
“Inflicting a Thunderstrike Effect on an enemy automatically triggers Lightning Strikes on enemies within a certain radius.”
Its description reads:
“As the lantern dims, splendor fades; as thunder rises, slaughter follows. This lantern has long ceased to shine for the stage. Instead, it draws lightning and wildfire from all directions, illuminating the ruins of a shattered dream. Yet the lantern itself has never changed; only its bearer has.”

How to polish Thundermoon Lantern
Polishing happens at Jewel. Normally a polish only raises an accessory’s numbers, unless the polish line says otherwise. Thundermoon Lantern’s polish does say otherwise. It makes the radius larger and adds a second property. After Polish 1, the effect reads:
“Inflicting a Thunderstrike Effect on an enemy automatically triggers Lightning Strikes on enemies within a large radius. These Lightning Strikes ignore Lightning Resistance.”
Polish 1 costs 42,240 Remnant Dust and one Tainted Crystal Shard. If you don’t have a shard, Quick Hand Zhang sells one for 7,440 Remnant Dust. You can also find a Tainted Crystal Shard in the world.
What Thundermoon Lantern is good for
Whenever you inflict a Thunderstrike Effect on an enemy, Lightning Strikes hit the enemies around it. After polishing, those strikes cover a larger radius and ignore Lightning Resistance. That makes it a good fit for Lightning weapons when you are fighting groups. The weapons and Phantom Edges list can help you choose one to pair with it, and the damage guide covers other ways to raise your output.
You have three accessory slots open from the start, so the lantern can go on next to two others. To compare it with the rest of your options, check the full accessories list, which includes every accessory’s effect and location.
