Ragefire Chasm Entrance Location in Orgrimmar (World of Warcraft)

Ragefire Chasm is tucked entirely inside the Horde capital, so there is no long overland trip to reach it. The instance portal glows deep in the Cleft of Shadow, the underground cavern that runs beneath Orgrimmar, and the whole approach happens without ever leaving the city walls.

Quick answer: Head into the Cleft of Shadow beneath Orgrimmar and drop to the lower cavern floor. The swirling green portal sits next to Neeru Fireblade‘s tent at roughly 53, 49.

Where the Ragefire Chasm portal is located

The entrance is a green instance portal on the lowest floor of the Cleft of Shadow, the shadowy cavern that sits directly under Orgrimmar. The portal is framed by large stone tusks with swirling fog, and it stands right beside Neeru Fireblade’s tent. On the Orgrimmar map the marker lands at about 53, 49.

There are two ways into the Cleft of Shadow itself, and both lead to the same cavern:

A tunnel in The Drag, near the Droffers and Son Salvage shop.
A trail connects the Valley of Strength with the Valley of Wisdom.

Route from The Drag to the dungeon portal

Make your way into The Drag and find the Droffers and Son Salvage marker. This is the central covered market street that connects the outer valleys of the city.

Look for the dark tunnel mouth lined with glowing torches that leads downward into the rock. Follow that path as it slopes into the mountain.

Keep moving down until the zone text reads “Cleft of Shadow.” Continue along the path into the main cavern and descend, or simply drop off the ledge, to reach the lower ground floor.

Walk to the swirling green portal ringed by stone spikes. That is the Ragefire Chasm instance entrance, with Neeru Fireblade standing beside it.

If you are picking up the “Slaying the Beast” quest, grab it from Neeru Fireblade right at the portal before you enter, since the giver stands next to the instance.

Getting there as Alliance

Alliance players are able to use the portal, but getting there requires sneaking through an enemy capital. The most reliable land route is to cross the bridge spanning the Southfury River from the Barrens into Orgrimmar, then keep to the path’s edges to avoid attracting the guards. After entering the city, follow the first route on your left to reach the Cleft of Shadow’s western entrance.

Because the flying guards hit hard, corpse-running closer with each death is a common workaround. Running in without gear equipped avoids repair costs if you die on the way. Note that Alliance groups earn no faction quest rewards from the run.
