The Fox is the pet that blocks progress for a lot of Ride A Pet players. It is the required pet for the second Rebirth, it sits behind a hatch chance of 1 in 21M on the map egg ladder, and there is no egg in the game called a Fox Egg. There are two realistic routes to one, and they cost very different things.
Quick answer: Roll the Dragon Egg in the Shop, where the Fox is a printed 30% pull, or hunt Glass Eggs near the stone tower and hatch them at your ranch. Keep your first Fox.
Which egg hatches the Fox in Ride A Pet
In the game’s own listings, Fox odds appear only for the Dragon Egg, a Shop-sold Robux gacha that hatches immediately. This egg has neither a nest, carry capacity, nor a timer. Its pool contains five pets:

At 30%, the Fox is the second most common thing in the pool, so anyone rolling for the Dragon will trip over Foxes on the way. The other route is the Glass Egg, a map egg you physically carry home. Glass Eggs can hatch both the Horse and the Fox, which is why they are the standard early Rebirth target for players who do not want to spend Robux.
Dragon Egg roll prices and how many rolls a Fox takes
Rolls are sold in four bundles, and the bundle you pick decides what a Fox really costs you. The odds never change between bundles, only the per-roll price does.

A 30% rate averages out to about 3.3 rolls per Fox, which lands somewhere between 230 and 330 Robux depending on the bundle. Cumulative odds stack like this:
- 1 roll: 30% chance of at least one Fox
- 3 rolls: 66%
- 5 rolls: 83%
- 10 rolls: 97%
No roll is ever guaranteed. Ten rolls still leaves a 3% chance of walking away Fox-less.
Glass Egg route: stone tower pickup and the 30-second run
The free route is a race. Glass Eggs spawn out on the map, cost cash to pick up, and break if you do not get them home in time. You want your fastest mount equipped before you start looking.
Hatch Luck bought at the board inside your ranch applies to these hatches, but it is wiped when you Rebirth. Spend it before you reset, not after.
How to confirm you actually hatched a Fox
When the egg opens, the hatch banner prints the rarity line and then the pet name. A Fox will show “Fox” on the reveal and register in your Index, and the Rebirth panel will stop flagging the pet requirement once one is in your ranch or inventory. If the banner reads Horse instead, that is the first Rebirth pet, not this one.

Why you should not sell your first Fox
Rebirth pets are consumed by the Rebirth panel, and the ladder runs Horse, Fox, Unicorn, Phoenix, Kitsune, Kitsune, Dragon. The Fox is the gate on Rebirth 2, so selling a duplicate is fine, but selling your only one means buying it back at three or four Dragon Egg rolls, or another lucky Glass Egg.
You also need the cash threshold on the panel to line up at the same time. Open the Rebirth button on the left of the screen and read the figure it shows on your save before you start banking for it, since the number listed for the Fox Rebirth has appeared as both $50M and $500M in circulation. Every Rebirth you clear adds +1x to your money multiplier, gives you an extra pet slot, and swaps your ranch skin.
Before you make the choice, remember that a Rebirth resets both your cash and any Hatch Luck you purchased. The usual idea of Fox as merely a stepping stone has one exception: weather mutations multiply the pet they affect, so a mutated Fox may earn more than an unmutated higher tier in the same ranch.
