Speed is the whole point of Ride A Pet. You hatch eggs, you mount whatever comes out, and the faster your pet runs, the faster you reach the rarer eggs that hold the faster pets. The scale at the top end is absurd: the gap between the tenth-fastest pet and the fastest is roughly six orders of magnitude.
Quick answer: Kitsune is the fastest pet in the game at 1B base speed, with 170 base jump and a 1 in 1Qi hatch chance. Dragon is second at 300M base speed.
Fastest pets in Ride A Pet ranked by base speed
Every number below is a base stat, measured before mutations are applied. That matters, because mutating a pet pushes its speed higher than the figure on its card.
| Rank / Pet | Base speed | Base jump | Hatch chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Kitsune | 1B | 170 | 1 in 1Qi |
| 2. Dragon | 300M | 150 | 1 in 5Qi |
| 3. Cerberus | 100M | 143 | 1 in 70Qa |
| 4. Phoenix | 1M | 146 | 1 in 30T |
| 5. TRex | 266K | 100 | 1 in 10T |
| 6. Unicorn | 137K | 135 | 1 in 1T |
| 7. Cheetah | 38.4K | 117 | 1 in 7B |
| 8. Giraffe | 27.4K | 83 | 1 in 300M |
| 9. Fox | 19.5K | 105 | 1 in 21M |
| 10. Ostrich | 6.96K | 86 | 1 in 1.5M |
Kitsune wins twice over. It is the fastest pet on the board and it also has the highest base jump at 170, so nothing else moves across the map as cleanly. Dragon sits just behind on both counts with 150 jump, and Phoenix is the best jumper outside the top two at 146 despite being only fourth in raw speed.
Jump is where the mid-table order scrambles. TRex is nearly double Unicorn’s speed, but Unicorn jumps 135 to the TRex’s 100. Giraffe has the worst jump of the ten at 83, which is worse than the Ostrich sitting a rank below it.

The ranking does not climb smoothly. Three specific upgrades account for almost all of the movement at the top, and one of them dwarfs everything else in the game.
- Phoenix to Cerberus — 1M to 100M, a 100x increase and the single largest step on the list.
- Dragon to Kitsune — 300M to 1B, roughly 3.3x faster.
- Cerberus to Dragon — 100M to 300M, about 3x faster.
Lower down, Unicorn is the one that changes how the game feels. Going from Cheetah’s 38.4K to Unicorn’s 137K is the point where the mid-game stops being a slog, and Phoenix is the first pet to break the 1M mark.
Kitsune vs Dragon: Speed or income
Fastest does not mean best. Kitsune runs more than three times as fast as Dragon, but Dragon out-earns it by a wide margin, generating 300,000,000 base income against Kitsune’s 90,000,000. If your bottleneck is cash rather than travel time, Dragon is the pet to keep out.
| Pet | Tier | Base income |
|---|---|---|
| Kitsune | S+ | 90,000,000 |
| Dragon | S+ | 300,000,000 |
| Cerberus | S | 30,000,000 |
| Phoenix | S | 100,000 |
| TRex | A+ | 50,000 |
| Unicorn | A+ | 30,000 |
| Cheetah | A | 3,500 |
| Giraffe | A | 2,200 |
| Fox | A | 1,200 |
| Ostrich | B+ | 750 |
Income scales even more violently than speed. Cerberus earns 300 times what Phoenix does despite sitting only one rank above it, so the S-tier bracket is effectively a different economy from everything below it. Everything from Cheetah down earns in the low thousands and is best treated as a stepping stone.

Hatch chances for the top-tier pets
The odds move faster than the stats do. Ostrich comes in at 1 in 1.5M, which is realistic on a normal play session. Cheetah is already 1 in 7B, Unicorn is 1 in 1T, and the S-tier pets sit in quadrillion and quintillion territory.
Dragon’s listed hatch chance of 1 in 5Qi is longer odds than Kitsune’s 1 in 1Qi, so the second-fastest pet is technically the harder pull of the two.
Those numbers only look reachable because rarity is chained to speed. You hatch eggs found around the map, faster pets let you reach rarer eggs, and those eggs hold the faster pets again. Mutating a pet raises its speed beyond the base figure, which is how players cross gaps that look impossible on paper.

Pets that just miss the top 10
Ostrich holds the last spot with 6.96K base speed, and it is a close call. Lion sits at 6.52K and Shark at 6.1K, so all three land in the same rough bracket. Ostrich edges them out on raw speed but pays for it with an 86 jump, which is the second-worst figure in the top ten.
If you already have a Fox at 19.5K, there is no reason to keep hunting anything in the 6K range. Fox is nearly three times faster and jumps better.
How to check a pet’s stats in game
The main HUD carries three buttons you will use constantly: Rebirth, Index, and Shop. The Index is where your collection lives, and it is the fastest way to confirm whether the pet you just hatched matches the base speed listed above before you commit to riding it.

You will know a pet is equipped when your avatar is mounted and a Dismount prompt appears on screen. If the prompt is not there, you are still on foot and running at your own base speed rather than the pet’s.
For most players, the realistic ceiling is Cheetah or Unicorn, and the S-tier pets function more as long-term targets than as things you plan around. The practical read on the top of the board is simple: ride Kitsune when you want to cover ground, ride Dragon when you want the bank to fill.
