Mordant Citadel is the fortified position Zero Company has to take back during the push on Luunata, and the first stretch inside is not a firefight. Hawks works alone through a locked door, a quiet control room, and a security terminal that plays back a recording nobody was supposed to see. The objective chain here is short and strictly linear, so knowing the order saves you from hunting for a trigger that does not exist yet.
Quick answer: Slice the Citadel entry door, walk into the control room, then interact with the security terminal to start the recording cutscene. When it ends, the lift goes into lockdown and your new objective is to override it.
Retake Mordant Citadel objective order
The mission banner reads RETAKE MORDANT CITADEL for this whole segment, while the tracked objective under it changes as you progress. Each step only appears once the previous one is finished, so there is nothing to miss by moving quickly.
| Objective | What completes it |
|---|---|
| ENTER THE CITADEL | Slice the locked entry door and step into the control room |
| ACTIVATE THE SECURITY TERMINAL | Interact with the terminal inside the control room |
| Override the lift lockdown | Appears after the security recording cutscene ends |

ENTER THE CITADEL showing in the objective panel. The door cannot be forced or shot open, so look for the slicing prompt on the panel beside it.
Both control room datapads and what they say
Two datapads sit in the control room before you touch the terminal. Neither is required to progress and neither gates the cutscene, but both are only readable during this window, so pick them up before you activate the terminal.
| Datapad | Content |
|---|---|
| MEMO: PEST CONTROL | A staffer reports strange centipede-like insects getting inside, notes Luunata should not have bugs like that, and asks for Castellan Bilix to be told so the entry point can be found. |
| MEMO: MAINTENANCE | A request to raise the ventilation problem with Baroness Mordant. The DLC13 Mining Droid copes with the heat fine, but dust builds up in every joint and servo and slows the units down. |
Note: the insect memo is worth reading before the recording plays. The parasite that shows up in the cutscene lines up with what the staff were complaining about, and the memo is written as though nobody upstairs had connected the two.
Activate the security terminal to trigger the cutscene
Once both memos are read, the objective sitting in the panel is ACTIVATE THE SECURITY TERMINAL. That is the only interaction in the room that advances the mission.

What the security recording shows
The playback is archive footage of three characters in the same room. The droid Typhon, Kundri Fathom, and her son Visser argue over clone prisoners, with Typhon accusing Visser of freeing them and helping them get out.

The argument ends with Fathom infecting Visser with a parasite. It is her own son, and it is done as a response to the betrayal rather than an accident, which reframes everything Zero Company has been chasing about the Infinite Coil up to this point on Luunata. Bennic and BELLHOP also feature in the surrounding dialogue.
After the cutscene: the lift lockdown override
Control returns to you as soon as the recording finishes. The lift you were heading for has gone into lockdown, and the objective panel updates to send Hawks after the override. That objective change is your confirmation that the terminal step is fully complete and nothing was skipped in the control room.
If the mission still shows ACTIVATE THE SECURITY TERMINAL, the cutscene has not played and you have either interacted with a datapad rather than the terminal, or you have not reached the console in the middle of the room yet. There is no combat requirement and no timer attached to this stretch, so it is safe to sweep the room for both memos before you move on.
